How do I measure bullet speed without a chronograph?

I'm trying to figure out my bullets drops.

28nosler, 162gr hornady btsp. Bc of .514. RETUMBO 77.8 gr.

Data says 2982fps with the test barrel of 24in. I have a 26in barrel.

The only way to know your drop is to shoot at the ranges you want to know your drop at. The only way to know your speed is to buy a chrono, book speed and actual speed doesn't usually line up in my rifles.

If you put your group just above the circle near the top of the orange square, that should put you about dead on at 200yds.As far as speed, get a chronograph. It is a very useful tool and well worth the money spent.

For about $100.00 you can get a Pro Chrono Chronograph. Well worth the money. It's nothing fancy but it works and I like it.

You can guesstimate by now Shooting at 200 and write down your dope to hit center, then go to 300, write down your dope to zero it, etc.. then you can use your confirmed dope and calculate your MV.

Just buy a Chronograph then you can measure your SD, ES, and see how consistent your reloads are

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns
