More musings on RL26 and 30-06

After finding success with RL26 and 180 NABs, with great speed and accuracy, I got to wondering if enough powder under a 165/168 to get similar results, or if I should just stick to RL17?

Could someone please run a QL for my 22” Savage 116 and Tikka T3 using RL26, WW casing, Fed215, and 165 or 168 Barnes TTSXs as well as 165 NABs?

Has anyone had any experience with similar combinations?

I have done well with RL17 with 165 NABs (2950 FPS), but am always tinkering, and have become intrigued with monolithics.

I played around with ql for several years now and found out, that it can be quite reliable.
Or not.

It gives an idea, but I would not bet money on it.
Chrony is a must, to check speeds.
I can have preassure checked for a few bucks and do so on a regular basis.
Sometimes it fits, sometimes it is way of - to both sides.

Thanh you. I don’t know if that much can fit in a case, but it lets me know some parameters. Looks like it should be right up there with the RL17 load on speed...

You might take a look at RL16. Very close to H4350.. I am currently working up a load for my son's 06 and it shows good speed and working on seating depth to fine tune. BTW load I am working on is Hornady 178 ELDX.

Agreed. I've been messing around with RL16 and 180's in a Springfield, best accuracy was at 54.7 gr's which is 1/2 grain under max according to speer data. Didn't chrono it but in that 24" barrel velocity should be somewhere around 2750. Not necessarily better than H4350 with 180's, but a good alternative.
