Yup I have and read his works. 340 Bee with a Leupold 1.5x5x20mm. His favorite setup!

You aren't kidding! I love Bob Hagel's writings. I am pretty sure I have all of his books. Probably the main reason I love the 338 and 35's so much. Pretty sure if there would have been 225 and 250 PT's back in his day, he would have been all over the Newton and Norma Mags.
Awesome rifle Fotis. Very excited to see what this one does. The 340 is the king of 338 hunting cartridges in my mind. Just enough to really hump a 250 along at 2850-2900 without so much recoil you need to staple your eyeballs in your skull.

Of course now, you can get a 2-8 scope and hunt elk with that .340 as well.

Very nice 340 Wby.
Loaded up with a 250 gr AB at 2900 fps, it will be a long range elk hammer.
I had always figured I would have a 340 Wby but jumped on the 338 RUM when it
was introduced. Man, I really love those fast 338's.
