I ran the box test on the Vortex Viper HS Tactical 5-15X44 and it was spot on. Optics were clear, click accurate, and the side focus right on...This scope could be 6-700 dollars and I would think it to be a good deal.

Man, you guys are going to push me over the edge for this scope...

Oh yeah, nice shootin', too!

That is definitely some great shooting, congrats on your new gun, it's a tackdriver.

I just don't understand whey someone would want to act like that. It absolutely boggles the mind. Thank you to our moderators and they guys who keep stuff like that out. I think I can say for the rest of us that we SO much appreciate it! Keep up the good work.

Idahotrophyhunter, that is a fine rifle too! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Savages right out of the box tend to be at or near the top of the heap when it comes to accuracy. We had a guy on our sniper team who purchased his own rifle which was a heavy barrel rifle in .308 that he used. It shot as well or better than most of the Remington 700's we had. Of course I and others gave him grief about it, but when it came time to shoot, he silenced the critics! I called it a Savage', pronouncing it in a French tone!! It makes it sound more exotic!

Nice shooting and we appreciate you being here with us!
David

Larry needs no one to defend him.... and I'm sure he had an inkling that's what was going to happen when he chose to break-out the insults. That stuff will fly over on the 'fire.... but it's a little more tight nit here. What 'stick has to say we'd love to have here.... the way he chooses to say it, we can do without. He knew when he started that 50-post in 4-hour tirade that he'd get launched... so did everyone else here... and that's what he wants, to be a Martyr.

Truth be told, I like Larry... and have for 10+ years now. His knowledge is vast and he has a lot to contribute. Unfortunately, he has decided to be a one man wive's-tale wrecking crew.... and propagator of Rem/McM/Leup/Talley/Amax/Molly machines... along with witty and obtuse prose. I remember when Larry would gladly share load data or rifle specifics... now, he has obviously grown tired of it.... and tired of people's "dumphuckitude".... do I fault him? No... Do I treat others the same? Sometimes. I miss the 'stick of old....
