I’m new to this forum. this is my first post.
I just purchased 8# of N560 and cannot find any load data for my short action 7saum on the vihtavouri website and was wondering if anyone with QL could help me out. i want to use the following
norma brass
160 accubonds
FGMM 210 lr primers
my gun has in the past done well at 80k jump using H1000 powder but i could only get good accuracy at 2890 and i hope i can get more speed with the N560. im also very compressed at 64 gr with the H1000 which i don’t like. thanks

You are going to be very compressed with N560 when you approach 3K fps.

Biased off the prediction above, I would think 61.0-62.0 grs with a drop tube should get you where you want to be with a slight crunch.

thanks dr mike and jd338. i loaded two each of 59.4-61.2 with .3 increments using a drop tube, no crunch. all the shots except the first would have been <1” group total at 100 yards and 85 degrees
60.9 & 61.2 all 4 bullets touched . since i’m wanting higher velocity im going to test 60.9, 61.2, and 61.5 at 300 when i can get a calm day and will probably load 5 of each for more reliable data . hopefully, i want have verticle and all
i’ll left to do is send my brass to be annealed and then load up my hunting rounds.
thanks again for the help

Sounds like you are closing in on a good load.
Keep us posted with your results.

having 7saum myself i think 160-168 is the sweet spot for that cartridge. 175's are a 2nd, but sierra 183's are great! having 560 and 565 it'll go fast as both are a good fit for the 7saum and 6.5prc.

Are you referring to Vihtavuori N560 and N565?

I have another question. i’m think about switching from norma to adg brass. my norma has about 6 firings but i do anneal about every other firing. I’m told adg holds less powder but i’d like to know from those who have switched to it are you able to get the same velocity in the adg which holds less powder. I just found a great wide node with 160 accubonds at 2970 with 61gr of n560 with no crunch using a drop tube and so now i’m concerned if i switch to adg i can’t duplicate that without severely compressed charges. unfortunately, i have a short action

I only have adg brass in 7saum, so no help there. In 6.5prc I gave Norma, but thank help either.

thanks dr mike and jd338. i loaded two each of 59.4-61.2 with .3 increments using a drop tube, no crunch. all the shots except the first would have been <1” group total at 100 yards and 85 degrees

60.9 and 61.2 at 80k jump all went into the same group that had 4 touching last trip. shot the same target so now i have 10 shots in .5 and i saved 2 of each to check velocity. 2966 and 2974. shot the other 2 at 200 and were same height on target so im going to use 61.0 and do one more jump test at 70 k jump and 90k jump at 500.
