Brand new for 2024, I noticed this new model has just become available. So I decided to sell my old 243 TC Venture and upgrade to another Howa! Looking forward to seeing how it shoots! I already have a Boyds laminated stock that fits it if I decide to hunt it and not ding up the Turkish Walnut......
Will post some pics and how it shoots when it arrives next week.

Tnx to all. I will give it a good review after I see how it shoots with the Walnut stock. But will of course try it in the Boyd's Laminated stock as well and post the groups with standard factory 100gr/ 243 loads. These guns are NOT lite being all steel, they are 7 1/4- 7 3/8 as they come out of the box! So they crowd 8.5lbs scoped up. I will be using the new GPO scope on it. Thought it would be fun to try one, and since it was only $150 more than the T/C Venture sold for, it's not a big investment for sure! So this makes the 3rd Howa since last summer. Guess I am getting addicted to them??? Lol.

I really like the laminated grip and end caps. Beautiful rifle. I bought a new Vanguard Sporter in 270 Win this past winter and haven’t got it out to shoot it yet. I think I like your stock a little better.

Two huge issues with these Howas for me, the 3 position Safety is a feature I really wanted having lugged Model 70's around most of my life. And compared to the Tikkas with their 3 shot clips...... these hold 5 ( plus one) so no need to fool around looking for your spare clip.
Plus there is something about a rifle that is ALL steel......... just looks and feels 1950ish, like ME!1717577657876.png

P.s. I think I can see one of these for this rifle in the near future.......1717578127445.png

Over the years we guided Sheep hunters in the Brooks Range, the .243 was always a top performer on Rams with lots of instantaneously kills. You really couldn't ask for better sheep caliber. But I realize most folks today think you need a Howitzer........1717873457568.png

Well gun came in and the action is fine...... I was pretty disappointed the wood was NOT what I was expecting......
Called the rep and he apologized all over himself. Says he will go down tomorrow and pick a stock with some figure and ship it right out.......... so I guess I can't ask for more than that... mounted the new German Precision scope on it; so will see how it shoots!
Weighes within a 1/2 oz of the 223! 8lbs 10oz scoped.

I'm thinking about getting the stainless version in 30-06. Do you know what type of butt pad it sports? Somewhat looks like a Pachmayr decelerator?

Not sure who makes their pads.
Got out for a very quick shot today to get it on paper! Here is a 4 shot group with cheapie PPU cartridges (100gr blue box) just to get it lined up at 100yds. I think I can live with it???? What say the experts??? This one needs little trigger tweak,
3 3/4 lbs and tiny bit of creep. Not as good as the 223 was right outta the box! I will tune it so it is exactly same as the other one..... no big deal.

Got a nice start with off the shelf ammo.
The first thing I do with all mine is cut 1 loop off the trigger spring. Then back adjuster on the spring out and then set tension to my liking.
