She's almost there. Just completed pillar bedding the stock and I'll be putting her make up soon.

Just ignore the naked guy in the background It's a 100 degrees in my garage:shock:

Looks like a good bedding job. The 6.5/284 is a fun cartridge. I bet it'll shoot.

Nice job...but what exactly is she?

Yep! 6.5-284 Norma.

Sure is DrMike. I spent a little bit more time with these one. I'm always careful when bedding wood. I'm getting better each time though. With luck I'll be doing load development next week. I have the 142 grain Sierra SMK on hand and waitng for the 140 grain Berger VLD Hunting. 51 grain of H 4831 will make her sing in the tune of 2900 fps. I hope this Lothar Walther is up to the task.

I'm looking forward to hearing how the loads work. I've done some load development for the cartridge in the past. I also have a friend that is using his in 1000 yard shoots. He is deadly accurate with that cartridge. It is attractive to me, and the more so since one can buy head-stamped brass for the cartridge.

After her cherry pops will you then change her name to Marylin?

Let us know how the loads work out for you, with pictures of course!

Yeah, just as long as you keep our current Washington Administration away from "Marylin" she might make it as oppose to our other Marilyn.

Here she is. I mounted my Mark 4 just for photo ops. My birthday is coming up so she'll be singing "happy birthday to me".

Looking at her posterior.

I'm not ready to call her Marilyn yet.

What is the bedding compound you used for the rifle? I have only used Accuglas to bed with, and it isn't as dark as whateer you used.

Really nice looking rifle... and the caliber is what I am looking to do my next rifle in. What action did you use?

I'm not sure what type of epoxy it is. It comes in a kit from Score High Gunsmithing. Looks to me like a Marine Tex. I also use Devcon Plastic Steel Putty on ocassion but I like the consistency of these one.

The action is Remington 700 Long Action and Williams bottom metal. The barrel is Lothar Walther with 8 twist, 26" long.

You better hang onto that gal. If she "loves" such decor, she is a dandy for certain. It does add a certain je ne sais quoi to the room. In fact, it looks positively debonair.

Yep! I thought only rifle nutcase like us can appreciate beauty like these. :?
