ran two of these into jugs today at 20 yards from my Lapua . 2845 FPS quickload velocity .

one came out the bottom of the jug that would give 24 " - 28 " of penetration . it was just barely in the dirt . it retained 158.50 grains and expanded to .890 " DIA

the other one stayed in the jugs . it also made it into the jug that would give 24" - 28 " of penetration . it almost went into the next jug , it was dented hard . it retained 175.26 grains , and expanded to .640 " DIA

the one that went into the dirt is on the left .

They did pretty much what they are supposed to do--penetrate into tomorrow while retaining enough weight to ensure massive tissue disruption. That was certainly a severe test of the bullet.

Jim,

The 338 300 gr AB is impressive on both ends when you get them going at 338 RUM and 338 Lapua speeds.
I recovered a couple of them in the 8th jug at 300 yds.

I also shot a few crop damage deer with them and they were impressive!

these buggers are sure hard on the row of jugs . they would be like getting hit with a brick . very impressive .

JD , thanks for the link . your bullets looked great too . they sure are big buggers .heck there is enough retained weight to make a 30 cal bullet .

And 2845 isn't exactly loafing that sucker out of there! That's just a little shy of what my little Win Mag runs 225's..
