Any idea what changed in the action from the older Model 7's to the newer ones ? Now when I'm saying older just back to the mid 90's.
The one I have is a mid 90's version and only has one scope mounting hole at the back of the action. The newer ones have two like the M700's except closer together obviously. Are there any other difference?
I don't like the idea of two pieces bases on this with only one attachment point at the rear to possibly swivel. When I put a single base on it, there is actaully a significant amount of daylight under which ever end I don't tighten down.... ie appears the action ( possibly base ) is not true??
