picked up a stainless contender nib for $250 at an auction. Just wondering if this is a good price. Any idea where I can pick up conter barrel in 22 hornet or 45-70

Is that the whole gun, i.e. barrel and frame, just the frame or what. If it is the whole thing, that's a screaming deal! If it's just the frame, that's still probably 60% of retail, I would have jumped on that like a pack of dogs on a crippled cat. But I know how I am... I'm a little afraid of buying a Contender. Pretty soon my place would be leaking barrels, pistol scopes, forends and die sets. J.D. Jones would know me by name. T/C would be sending me Christmas cards.

just the stainless frame, 14" super forearm, and grip. the vcr tape has not even been open. JUst no barrel. I have a friend who will sale me a carbine butt stock. I want to get a 22 hornet and 45-70 carbine barrels.
