Wife has a Remington Model 700 MTN Rifle in 25-06! Does that count and get me in?

Naw, but it'll get your wife in! Have her post a picture.

I second that Mike!

BK- I hope you do get that Sporter 25-06. Need a good field report on one! I was really gunning for the Sporter till I saw what this 264WM can do. Needless to say, I will get the 25-06, just not a huge priority right now.

Guy, that danged picture is what made me get that CDL 25-06. I love that picture. Just looks great. Scotty

Fotis, that rifle looks really good buddy. Hope it sticks around a little. Scotty

WOW that rifle is a real beaut my friend! That reminds me of an old 244 Remington that a friend owns that was smithed by P.O. Ackley himself, it too has the twin triggers and mauser action.

Next Model 98 or Springfield 03 action I lay my hands on is going to become a 264 Win Mag!

Just trying to get this 7mm Rem Mag built before I retire...too many hoops to jump through at Gun Broker.com getting verified and what not!

I am in

700 classic 25.06
Chistensen Arms 257 wby (700 action)

I am thinking a nice stubby 250 savage on a model 7 action next???

Or a 257/223 AR15

Can I get in ? Can't say I ever wanted a quarter bore till I saw Sportsmans had this thing mismarked. Once I purchased it, the Mgr gave me a hard time - pulled it back out of the box, checked SN# and with Remington - said they didn't chamber Bee cartridges

Was the SPS model - Added the Rem laminated stock & a Leupy 6X18. I like this caliber much more than I thought I would - Issue is  wife used it to shoot her cow elk with last Nov and likes it too - I might have lost it :lol:View attachment DSCN1301.JPG

Mark -
I knew you would show up eventually :p ...where have you been hiding?

Last Saturday was the first time I've pulled a trigger on a gun since last Nov ( my word it was hard to say that ) !
Things have changed around the house-hold - gone from guns to bows. Kid is in it heavy as is the wife now - just ordered her a bow out of the Hoyt custom shop last week.
I'm still around - can't give this up ! Maybe since she is soon to have a nice shiney new bow, she'll forget about my .257Bee ?

Mark,

Nothing wrong with spending time with wife and children pulling strings. Nevertheless, good to see you around here again.

I wondered where you are. Now I know. Anyway, nice to have you back Mark.

Handsome rifle, Taylorce1.

It wasn't always that pretty, I had some growing pains with this rifle. First stock I had broke in two right throught the recoil lug. This is the second stock which is a factory take off of an old Whitworth. The stock was darn near red and had a hockey puck for a recoil pad. I stripped off the old finish and found decent wood underneath so I decided to let it shine through.

Here is how it first looked in a Carlo Walnut stock I got from Richards. I was just getting ready to start shaping the stock and take off the rollover cheek piece. Learned my lesson about buying a factory second stock on this one.

Here it is after I got it re-stocked in a factory take off Whitworth stock. I got it together just in time to shoot a pronghorn doe with it.

Here are some pics after I refinished the stock and added a new recoil pad after hunting season while the barreled action was getting KG Gunkote in a semi-gloss black.

Of course the finished product! Although this picture was taken before I went to the Leupold base and rings.

There is some beautiful character in the wood. You've done a very nice job on that rifle. Congratulations. I do appreciate good looking wood, though I am terrible at working wood.

Much nicer now. Those original mounts look like it would be impossible o get a decent cheek weld!

Wow, that is a Beautiful rifle! You did really well with that rifle. Man, it looks awesome. Scotty

Count me in. I only have one 25 right now. It is my long time deer killing machine. I call it LIGHT SWITCH because when you flip it's bang switch what ever it is aiming at lights go out.
I thought I had a picture of it on my computer but I don't. Will have to take and post one latter. It is a Remington Sportsman 78 action (poor mans 700 made in the 80's) with a #6 Shilen SS 26" barrel in a H/S Precision full bed stock with SS bottom metal with a Zeiss 3-12X56 VMV scope 25-06 Remington. Tack driving deer hammer.

Man, I wish I would have bought a stack of those Sportsman 78s when they were available. I have one in .223 that I just love.
