Woodleigh makes a 180 and a 200 Protected Point bullets especially designed for the lower velocities of the 338 Federal. Do any of you QL user have the 200 Woodleigh mentioned for a 22" bbl? Any help appreciated.

I have a box of each of these Woodleigh bullets. They do have some real promise. Is this the information you're seeking?

That will work! I have some Speer 200 HC and have yet to try them. I was thinking of this Woodleigh 200 speced for the 338 Federal. I'm think it would work pretty swell, especially if one could get it around 2700 fps. what does QL show for the 180NAB and the Speer 200HC, say at 61K?

Thanks Doc... you think that Speer 200 will open up on an elk out around 350 when going 2650 or so?

LVR isn't listed in QL it seems, but I've read reports (from another forum) that it can move a 200 gr out & about 2700fps+ within safe perimeters. No mention on accuracy though. I've got some 200AB's loaded up, just need to get to the range and run them across the Chrony to verify.

My hunting load is 46.5gr of H335 with the 180gr AccuBond, loaded to 2.885" for 2735fps. It's subMOA in my M77 with a 22" barrel.

Recovered weight was 146gr, 130 yards quartering towards me, went through approximately 22-23" of deer.

Nice. I have a few on hand to try out later. At this point, I would have to take some game with this caliber, personally ( which I haven't), before I would trust it much past 250yds or so. Just saying. One just never knows where those goofy elk will show up! ha. I tend to hug the more timbered areas anyhow, so I may go the rest of my life w/o even getting the kind of shot "I tend to agonize over", ha. thanks guys.
