I recently bought some Ramshot Magnum powder for use in a 300 and 30-378 Wby. The Ramshot 300 wby load data for a 180 BT is 79-88 grns, producing velocities of 2750-3080fps, but the data for the 30-378 is only for the Partition bullets not the BT. I know that with the different bullet structure and the Ballistic tip being a boat tail the data won't be interchangable. THe suggested load data was 95.8-106.4grns producing 3068-3409fps with the 180 Partition bullet. These are good numbers because the only powder that does better with a 180 is 109-113 grns retumbo and speer SPBT max velocity at 3460fps, but was not thrilled with the accuracy of load(go figure). Fast isn't always best, bullet stability is important too since if you can't anything at past 500 yds, the energy at that range is useless or dangerous to non game animals like does and cows around the trophy you want. So if there is any data to be had with the ramshot powders I would greatly appreciate it.

Stay tuned!
RG # 6 is 5-6 weeks away. There is a lot of new powders and load data.

Since the data is for the Partition, and you wish to use the BT, you should be alright to start with the start charge and work up carefully, since the Partition will (generally) generate a little higher start pressure and have a slightly lower max charge than the BT, at least from my experience. This is by no means carte blanche to go above the listed loads, and caution should be used to be sure you are aware of what the load is doing, but you should be fine.
