Range day today

340 Bee and 223.

The 223 did 1/2" with 50 gr BT at 3250 fps and H335. This with the Ruger american.

The 340 Bee rocked it with the 210 Partition and H4350!
3165 fps and 1" group at 100 yards. Not too bad at all!

Very decent results, Fotis. That has to be gratifying for you. The Bee is a fine looking piece, and in your hands it appears to shoot very well.

Fotis, sounds like you had a great day at the range. We just finished a few last minute fall renovations that needed to be done. The Mrs.know that for the next 10 days I will be in my man cave & at the range looking to find that perfect load for my 280AI :mrgreen:!

On another note I shot some 200 gr Hornady Factory rounds. Right around 1/2"-3/4" max.


Now for the kicker! 3200 fps WBY advertised velocity. 3 round spread for me 3005, 3007 3015 fps....WBY first!!!!!!! Not even close to advertised velocity.

That is certainly surprising. Other rounds you loaded were about where you anticipated?

No doubt!!!!!!!!!! My 378 270 hornady loads list at 3180 fps. My stock 378 Wby clocked them at 3230!!!

Sounds pretty danged good Fotis. That 210 PT at 3165 will be AWESOME in the elk woods. I am about a 100FPS behind you with my 338, but oh man, that bullets is something fierce.

Fotis...that benchtop of yours is in the running with mine for the "it doesn't look good but I know where everything is" award! Lol! You're not quite to my level...but you show potential!
I love the cut off powder cans and admit to having the "things" just like em!

Great looking rifle Fotis. A 200 fps discretion is huge. I could see 50 fps or so but not 200. Maybe the ammo was undercharged at the factory? Might ask Weatherby why so low of speed.

Fotis that advertised velocity from Weatherby was probably with Norma loads. Their right at the hairy end of max loads.

They were Weatherby factory ammo featuring the 200 grain Hornady at 3200 fps or so......
