Range report on my wifes 270 Featherweight...

No...no news on the 280 Ackley...I haven't asked for any though...I figure I'll just wait until they call me, I don't want to rush them, lol...I'm perfectly fine with them taking their time, doing it right, and I know I'll get it one of these days.

It's gonna be a sweet rifle for sure. We are just as excited as you!

Seems you've got another Eleanor O'Connor there. What a joy to have a wife that enjoys rifles and shooting/hunting. That, is a lily among thorns!

That's for sure. My wife doesnt pull the trigger, but she will spend hours glassing the fields for me in chuck season. She has even helped me hang a couple treestands!

My ex-wife was terrified of any gun. I remember when she was putting up the laundry and folding my socks, etc and putting them in the drawer, suddenly there was this blood curdling yell, "There's a gun in your drawer!!" She wouldn't go near that drawer after that.

Very nice. Bet she loves that rifle. I have one chambered in 30-06 I have owned it since around 1996. Absolutely one of my favorite rifles. Mine shoots very well also. I have killed countless deer with that rifle.

Congratulations to your good lady. That wee spiker should be mighty tasty.

Congratulations to your lovely wife on a nice spiker buck that will be some fine table fare this winter!! The photo is excellent.

Blessings,
Dan

That could be a very handy piece of information ...

Way to go! Now that's the way to do it. Great buck with a beautiful Model 70... Life is good!

I shot this one, using her 270...160 yards, in the neck, dead before he hit the ground...130 Ballistic Tip @ 2,980 fps (mv)...the 270 Featherweight Deluxe is proving its worth quite nicely in its very first season.

Wow! Nice. Seems like the old 270 is getting it done for you and your wife. Hard to beat a 270 for general purpose deer slaying.

Up until I got mixed up with all you characters  the 270 win was the only rifle that I owned now that has changed quite a bit. Still love that calibre if it was good enough for Sir Jack it is good enough for me !
It is hard to beat the 270win with a quality 130gr bullet.

Blessings,
Dan

Have decided I'm gonna pillar/glass bed this rifle, keeping the factory stock, just bedding it...it moves around a little with the weather.

The .270 still manages to get the job done when the rifleman does what is supposed to be done. Congratulations.
