Charlie, I'm getting ~2550 with either the 200 grain AccuBond or the 200 grain E-Tip in my 338 Federal. The 210 grain Partition is approximately identical. However, I get superior accuracy with the aforementioned bullets.

DrMike, I am getting >2575 fps with the 200 grain AB's and >2550 with the 210 Partitions. Thanks for the info, I knew they had to be close in muzzle velocity

DrMike again some real fine marksmanship . I am looking for to a number of stories this fall with photos I hope!!!

Blessings,
Dan

When does your season open Dr. Mike?

Joel,

Sheep opened on August 1st. Moose and black bear opened on August 15th. Elk and whitetail opens on September 1st.

Doc, good luck with the hunts and the choices. If you listen real good you may hear something from your safe. It may sound like the Whelen saying pick me, pick me.

Hey, you're right! I did hear that Whelen. It was saying, "Pick me! Pick me!" However, the 325 WSM was fairly screaming, "Forget him! Forget him!" They're fighting in there! I carried the 9.3X64 last evening. We were scouting an area that I've hunted many times and where I've been very successful for moose. We didn't see any moose, though we did scare up a few elk in the thickest stuff you could imagine. However, elk doesn't open until Monday.

I think that 9.3 will look real good in a picture with a big critter.
Guess you'll have to get out even more so none of the rifles feel left out.
Nice shooting BTW.

Any luck with the hunt Mike?

Seems like your medium bores are looking to make a full frontal assault pretty soon.

We saw cows and calves, but no bulls. The elk were sparse on September 1, though we startled several small groups throughout the days we were afield. Noah got on several good whitetail bucks, but he was a bit slow getting down on them. It has been warm throughout this period, so I told him not to be overly concerned as it would get cooler shortly. We awoke to snow this morning. Don't know if the elk are bugling, but I am. I think we'll go out after school this evening and see what is moving.
