Recovered AB's and PT's

"I would like to try the phone book test at 300 yards and 600 yards with the 300RUM."

If you do - please post up the results! I'd think the dry phone books would require less setup and clean up time & effort and would still stress the heck out of the bullets.

I've yet to recover a Partition from game... They have worked real well for me over a lot of years, mostly on mule deer. Have to resort to bullet testing to catch 'em!

45-70 300gr BST at 20 yards going 2460fps and went through 3 water filled milk jugs.

I think we found them in the bottom of the 3rd jug. What a destructive bullet it is at that speed. Can't imagine any deer walking away from one of them. Scotty

Scotty,

Neat videos. It looks as if you fellows had a ton of fun busting jugs!

Mike, it was awesome. Good way to blow off some steam and test the Worlds Best bullets for Sportsman!

Just kidding, but tests like this convince me everytime about folks that complain about poor performing Noslers, something else is usually amiss. Scotty

I did a high school science project on bullet penetration. I used two square five gallon buckets full of wet news paper. Worked pretty good and was easier to set up out at longer ranges.

I was using a 7 STW and 160 PT, and 160 X if I remember right. I had to load them down for the 50 yard test, both blew right threw a few feet of wet paper

By the way, Great looking bullets Scotty! I think you'll be a huge fan of the 160 AB out of that 7 WSM.

Thanks Jake, your right buddy, with the performance you got out of your 280AI on elk last year and others here, I don't see many problems and they seem to shoot really well for me. I think I will be around 3100 so I should have some great trajectory as well. They are much stouter than I thought. Scotty

Nice pictures and video, thanks for sharing. The more and more I see that 160 grain AccuBond in the 7mm the more and more I like it. Sure love shooting water jugs, very addicting. any one got milk?

It is a whole lot of fun Corey! I think Joel, Scotty, smilingcoyote1971, and myself have alot of milk to drink before we do that again. We even tested the 180gr Golddot out of the G20 10mm. We only had 2 milk jug after all of the destruction. So we laid them long ways end to end. That 180 went through both jugs and lucky for us hit the table. Found it on the ground behind the table.

Brian,

I know all about drinking a lot of milk!

So, Brian, does this mean that you have strong bones and healthy teeth?

Great info and pictures! Thanks for posting. I have to find a milk jug source. Maybe I can stock up when the grandkids come visit. Do the big empties of R&R work OK? I have a few of those.

Guy,
How many jugs did the 260 gr AccuBond go through? When my buddy and I did it we found it in jug 6.
EDIT:
Sorry somehow I missed seeing your results earlier in the thread

Now that looks like fun

It was a blast! Nothing much more fun than destroying jugs and seeing what are bullets do at impact. Scotty
