EXPERIENCED RELOADERS PLEASE HELP. Which powder is least temperature sensitive? Which powder & bullet do you find most accurate for 1000 yard target shooting?
I have a Savage 110, 24" barrel, 1/10 twist 300 Win Mag. I’m shooting at sea level, in Louisiana (elevation 144 feet). Shoot coming up in September, you're ideas are appreciated.

I've had good luck with 180gr Spitzer Boat Tails with the combo of IMR 4350, H4350 or IMR 4831, H4831. Now, some guys like a sleek 190gr SPTBT, behind those same powders.
I shoot a Win M70 in 300 WSM.

I forgot to mention, Savages seem to really like heavier bullets, start with 180' s and go up to a possible sleek 200.

Sierra makes excellent match bullets as well. So start in that direction. You can't go wrong.

215 Berger's and H1000. Can't beat this combo in a .300 Win Mag in my opinion. Game from 150-1,034 yards. Wicked accurate and great velocities.

190SMK is also a great bullet for paper punching in a win mag.

H1000 was developed for 1000 yard comp in the 300. At least that is what I remember reading.

Great info, thank you. Just bought some H1000 & some Hornady 208 ELD match bullets to try. Going to work up some loads. How do you think this bullet would compare with the Berger 215's?

I've used the 190 SMK's with reloader 22 & had good results at 600 yards on one outing, the next day my groups were all over. Not sure what happened. Going to try those again.

My thoughts exactly.
