This some information for Canadian guys & gals on this forum. I was just advised that there is no restrictions on ordering reloading equipment from the US. I received a email from Manager of shipping department at Natchez.
Has anyone done this through the mail service or other means?
When it comes for Forster equipment dies are about 40% less from the states and the Forster press is almost a $100.00 less.
For this guy that is a big saving and I can't turn it down :)

Dan

Thanks Dan for the information, as you well know we really get gouged here on pretty much everything.

gerry, I am just waiting to here back from Graf & Sons if they will ship here. I will cut dies cost almost in half and the co-axel press is about a 110.00 cheaper than I can get it here in Regina  heck anywhere in Canada from what I checked out so far.

Blessings,
Dan

Keep us posted please, I don't mind ordering from the U.S. when we are paying such high prices here. Prices should be coming down with the Canadian dollar being so high compared to the past. The retailers here need to find a way to lower prices :) If you haven't done so maybe I can email MidwayUSA on what they can ship here.

Go for it.

Here is a good one for you. On the last half dozen purchases my wife and I have made from Cabela's we checked first on the price to buy it from Cabela's Canada on-line and then from the US Cabela's mail order.

Every time it has been substantially cheaper to buy from the US Cabelas's mail order, including shipping than from their Canadian store......... now how the heck does that work? Where is the incentive to even bother with Cabela's Canada mail order unless it happens to be one of the items they cannot/will not ship from the US?

Ridiculous.

Mooswa you are absolutely right. I sent a letter to the manager of Cabela's Canada and he advised me that he did not think that was possible.
I then emailed him my bills regarding the winter boots I purchased it was 35.00 cheaper after shipping. He apologized and said there was nothing they could do about it. I also tried to do store to store but it only works in the US
I also purchased a little buddy heater from the Cabelas US and saved 20.00 after shipping.
Doesn't make since to me :( I was advised that it is the same thing with Sportsmens in US as Wholesale Sports owns it. I also know here in Canada that Russell sports in Calgary is the same company as Wholesale Sports and they have different prices as well

Blessings,
Dan

Hey, we pay a premium to be Canadian. The "free" health care has to be paid somehow. I've ordered from Mid-South, Sinclair and Natchez. Midway redirects your phone call to a recorded message telling you they cannot ship to Canada. They got in trouble with Homeland Security some years back and they don't want another hassle. Life ain't always fair, boys.

Doc, you are some what correct regarding health care & taxes and trust me I just paid a large tax bill today. But the wholesaler/retailers here are really getting a break on some of this stuff.
I can drive to Walmart in Minot which is 2 hours away from the farm and with my discount I can buy powder cheaper than the gun dealer can here in Regina the same with primers.
I know that there is someone making money as I declare it at the Canadian border so it is legit.

Blessings,
Dan

As an aside of no small consequence, Dan. Should US Homeland Security stop you one day, and your drivers licence shows a Canadian address, you will have a difficult time explaining the smokeless powder in your possession. A word to the wise. Canada doesn't care if we bring up to 11 kg home with us; USHS seems to be very concerned. Just FYI.

Yes Mike, I have been advised that and have only done it once since HLSA was updated.
But you can bring back reloading equipment from what I have been advised. I am waiting for some confirmation from Graf & Sons who I have dealt with in the past.
Just waiting to see if Graf will send the order as dies are approximately $40.00 which is a whole lot less than in Regina & they are in stock.

Blessings,
Dan

You can purchase all the dies and presses you want. You can buy case prep materials. The regulations really don't make a lot of sense, but then, what would you expect from Washington Bureaucrats?

Thanks Doc, I think that I am going to be placing a order in the next day or so.
Quick question has RMR slowed down any?

Blessings,
Dan

I was in the shop this afternoon. They were all working pretty steadily. I witnessed one rifle getting a new stock which required a new magazine. There were a couple of projects running on the lathes. There was a new barrel being installed on another. Another was fielding orders the entire time I was there. Another was wrapping up work on a black powder gun. Everybody appeared to be steadily engaged in some form of labour or another. I saw no Whelens on the benches, nor, for that matter, a 338 Federal or a 9.3X64 Brenneke.

Thanks Mike for the update.
Guess I will send them a email tomorrow, see if I get a response.

Dan

Might as well send that Whelen to me Dan. I will figure it out for you.. :p

One can buy powder at Wal-Mart? ..or did I just read that wrong and have just not had enough coffee this morning.

A few years ago I was in Minot and went to the Walmart there and they had powder. I bought 6 or 7 lbs. now I say it was a few years ago it could of been 5 as at one time we were there lots as the farm is just under 2 hours from there.
Blessings,
Dan
