Was at a gun shop today (the most arrogant shop in the area), that being said they a couple 300 SAUM and 7 mm SAUM Remington rifles (model seven and 673) with laminate stocks.

I already have a 673 in 350 RM...but for some reason, these rifles are just great to handle.

Point well, nice palm swell.

I sit here trying to convince myself to buy a 6.5 mag or 7mm SAUM just for the fit of the rifle.

Cheers

BK - you guessed it.

JD - Are you not tired of that rifle yet? It is calling for a new home in Oregon.

The 7SAUM would be a very sweet rifle. I absolutely love the 7WSM and the Remington version is only a hair behind. In a short, fast handling rifle I'm not sure you would grab much else! Good luck, hope you get one, we need more little 7 mags around here!

The 7 SAUM is a fine cartridge, as is the 300 SAUM. Unfortunately, either of these cartridges ran head-on into the tsunami known as the WSM. Still, for the hand loader, either can be a winner. Just ensure that you stock up on brass.

Kurt & orchemo,
I had the same thought when the word arrogant was mentioned. If I was a gun shop owner that is not the word associaton that I'd like! I've been in that shop 3 times in 20 years and every time I go - I wonder why I went.

Do not really like to slam on shops, but....I just wonder how it remains in business. Some nice rifles though, but at a 40% premium.

Been kicking around getting a Sako Finnlight or Tikka T3 in 7mm-08. Would add a Bell & Carlson stock to the Tikka. But now for some variety, am considering a 7mm SAUM or 6.5 RM.

Do not need either and no holes I am trying to fill. LIttle difference in velocity between the two, but something different to shoot.

Will have to see what comes around.

Cheers

Go in there some time an tell Warren you want a Glock, because you think they are the greatest pistol ever. Then step back and watch the fireworks.

He does have some nice rigs, but I refuse to pay well over retail.

Have a Rem 673 in 6.5 Rem Mag coming my way. Coming with some brass and dies. Will add a Leupold 2.5-8 x 36 and should be a great package.

Bullets ? 125 Partitions, 130 gr AccuBond....many choices and a few hours a fun ahead.

Should be a lot like JD338's gun both of the slugs you listed would be great, congrats.

Congratulations. Great cartridge, and the 673s can be made to shoot very well indeed. I probably should look for one chambered in 6.5 RM to match my 350 RM.

Wow, congrats on that rig.. I am with Gerry, either the 125 or 130 should be excellent! That is really a versatile little set up.

Or you could just build a 264WSM on a Featherweight to match your others!

The 125 gr PT and the 130 gr AB are excellent choices for the 6.5mm Rem Mag.

I am using the 130 gr AB at 3050 fps
