I see there are some #1 fans here,just got my first one a week ago.
Its not as scare free like the ones on here but you have to start some where
Its a mid eighties b model 338 mag. Just loaded some shells yesterday and hope to shoot
some time today,It did shoot factory win 200 grains well

That Ruger 1B sure is a beautiful rifle and the 338 Win Mag is a fantastic round. Let us know if you need any load data and keep us posted with your results.

Thanks for the welcome , I don't think the #1 should be any different than my bolt guns to load for or is it?
 
No difference. You may have to tweak the load to your rifle as all rifles are different. There is a lot of load date here for the 338 Win Mag so let us know if you need any help.

Yes, big fan of the Number One. They hunt well. Yours looks great!

If it doesn't shoot well, there are some tips and tricks that can be applied.

Not to great of shooting weather ,snowing and 20 degrees , I think the #1 might be a shooter

I think I will keep going with the re22 loads.But any advice is more than welcome

the bullets were 225 horandy interlock sp
 
Not to bad for loads that worked in my friends model 70 , just the bullets seated out farther
I am more than happy with this start

Try the 225 gr AB with RL 19 and IMR 4350. Seat the bullet .020" of the lands for starters.

The #1 did a little better today ,it was a little warmer out plus I tried a rubber
O ring on the forearm screw. Same load of RE 22 as last time
