Received my few pounds of SW Precision powder this week, got to go out and test some in my 338-06 so far. Using Varget data for a reference I tried out four loads with a 200gr Interlock FB. Conditions were far from ideal, a heavy mist was coming and going, kept moving the rifle to my truck and back. Mag speed stayed attached the entire time. Last group was my 200gr NBT H380 load that's a one holer, rain was starting hard, threw my last shot but included anyway.

Seems the powder liked being pushed hard. All brass Winchester bulk 30-06 passed through a 338-06 die. Bullets seated to cannulare, unknown distance to lands, just wanted to get velocity readings, used CCI200 primers.

Stevens M200 with 25" Green Mountain barrel.

Will be testing 22-250, 6mm BR and 308 at the very least with this powder.

The velocities are amazingly consistent, your 55 and 56 grain loads look like a great place to start for accuracy.

Went out with three test mules today, did a better test then last time. Loaded up ten rounds of Shooters World Precision (SWP), and the same powder charge of of Varget for an apples to apples comparison. Midsouth Shooters Blog stated they were for all intents equal. I've found that SWP is slightly faster in my three rifles.

Rifles : 308 26", Satern M24 barrelled 700, 223 20" SPS Tac 700, 22-250 Savage 12 26"

All groups shot with bags from a bench. The loads were relatively known accuracy loads, very common loadings with zero tuning. All brass was fire formed for the respective chambers. 223 was second firing with only neck sizing, all others multiple firings full length sized.

Loads as follows, all measurements to ogive:

223 Wolf Brass, CCI 400 primers, 69 SMK at .010" from lands at 1.938", 24.5gr powder

22-250 Winchester brass, neck sized then body die bump .002", CCI 200 primers, 52gr Nosler Custom Competition, 2.020" for approximately 2.350 OAL, 35.0gr powder

308 Lapua brass, FLS .002" bump, CCI 200 primers, 168 Amax 2.200" for approximately 2.830", 44.5gr powder.

Times noted for shots strings, velocity recordings written after each shot, taken with Mag Speed V3.

I round robined the rifles, 223, 22-250 then 308. First was SWP with mag speed attached, then Varget. Each string was 5 shots, no gimmes for flyers, they landed where they landed, all testing was 100 yards. All rifles got one shot to warm up and for scope adjustment.

After the first round of shooting with the MS, I took a break, shot the 6x45 for fun, and checked game cameras on the property.

Second round involved no MS, with no scope adjustment. Finished the shooting with a second 5 round volley of the 223, which is the highest target on the sheet since I had spare rounds for that rifle.

All targets have SWP on the left, Varget on the right. All shot bottom left, bottom right, top left, top right. I switched and shot the last 308 group before the 22-250 to let it cool down.

As you can see, SWP is slightly faster, and my load for the 308 had flattened primers, and a few ejector swipes. That is a max load. All Varget rounds behaved as expected.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves, any questions I'll do my best to answer.

It was 85, slight 6 o'clock wind, barro 3 miles away at home reads 29.87
