Has anyone tried one of these yet? They look promising, the price seems quite attractive at only $279.00 for an American-made product.

30mm tube, BDC reticle.

Would be at home on any levergun but makes a lot of sense for an AR or a bolt action.

Skinner contracts their optics overseas. Andy Larsson has posted that.

No, I haven't tried one yet, but they seem like good scopes.

I just ordered one for $259.
I’ll let you all know what I think.
I plan on putting it on my Tikka Still hunting rifle which currently had a vortex 1.75-5x32 on it.
I wanted to check out an LPVO and also the red dot.

I received mine yesterday, I ordered it from The Big Woods Bucks guys for the same price as Andy Larson’s Skinner Sights site.
They had it for free shipping and no tax.
Here is the lowdown as of this time.
It comes very, very well packaged. Much better than my Leupold or Vortex scopes.
It looks and feels very well made, very sturdy, especially for the price point.
It is a bit heavy feeling if that is a concern.
It comes with scope caps on it already.
One battery is provided and has a good range of power settings for brightness of the red dot.
I have astigmatism and I was able to get the dot so I could see it clearly.
BDC reticle is good and was easy to adjust for my eyes, as I need glasses to read and see close now.
I was going to see how it looked at the end of the evening in low light, but fell asleep and woke up in the dark🤷🏻‍♂️
I’ve got some load work to do before I switch it over on to my rifle so that review will come at a later date.
So far I would have no problem recommending this to someone.
I’ll add more to this later, and/or if anyone has any questions

This could be timely. I went shooting Wednesday. Took four #1s and the Jarrett along with a lunch box. The only rifle that looked well balanced, scope and rifle was the 375 HH wearing a 1.5 x5 Leupold. The Vx3 hd 2-8 looks a little heavy on the 257 Roberts, not bad but still a lot of scope and the vx5 on the 300 looks a little top heavy. I guess the Jarrett is ok looking with the vx5 on it. The only other guy at the range was zeroing his 416 Remington and a Vx 6 gen 2. Got to thinking about the vx6 1-6 or the night force 1-8. Been thinking about that for a while. Had the opportunity to look through the vx6, that has some good glass. The range has steel plates set up from 300 to 425 at 25 yard intervals. The plates range up a hill and are staged through the ponderosa pines and brush. You kinda need to look for them. Set my scopes to 6 power and 5 power on the 375. The rifles are all zeroed at 100 an inch and a half high, fudge factor to the high side.
No problem hitting the 300 yard plate with all rifles, no adjustments. Made it to 350 before missing with the 375. Clearly a difference resolving the well shot up plate, in the shadows, using vx3 5 power vs vx5 6 power. At 425 the Windplex reticle definitely helped with hold over estimates but I even managed to walk in a couple of hits with the 375.
Point being, good glass at 6 power is sufficient, in my mind, for reaching out there a ways. I’m short one scope and have really been thinking about being able to always resolve enough to get hits out to my practical limits as opposed to being able to shoot itty bitty groups at that distance.
A vx6 gen 2 is expensive, so is the night force 1-8, and it’s ffp. I think I’ll try the skinner as well.

I’ve spoken with the people at Skinner sights for my lever action and they are really good people to deal with.
I have been thinking about a 1-6 or so for some time, and I knew that Skinner put out a quality product, so I did a little research and everyone who has used them said that that were impressed with them, especially for the price point.
I did forget to mention that the glass seems really good! Better than my vortex Diamondback which has some distortion on the outside edges which was about $100 more.
For $259 can’t go too wrong.

I have a Leupold VX-3 1.75-6x32mm on my Marlin 1895G 45-70. It's been a great scope and is perfect for this rifle. Sadly Leupold discontinued this scope several years ago.

It sure looks like a nice scope and at a friendly price point.
