Got around to taking a few pics today.
I acquired a very nice classic sporter in 7 RM few months back so I thought I'd put a few pics up of my dad and I's model 70's.
These are my twins. They are classic sporters, on top is the 25-06, on bottom is the 7 RM. The 25 wears a vari x III 6.5-20x40 AO, 1/8 dot, w/ elevation turret, standard leupold 1 piece base and rings. Shoots like a house a fire. Most accurate factory rifle I've ever owned hands down. Shoots 100g NBT with 58g RL22 under .5 MOA at 3375fps, coyotes worst nightmare... Atop the 7 RM sits a VX3 LR 30mm tube 6.5-20x50 SF, fine duplex, with target knobs, Weaver 20 MOA base and tactical rings, scope level, and angle cosine indicator round things out. Still tinkering with this rifle but it shoots 1/2-1 MOA with 162 amax, 162 sst, and 160g ABs at 2900fps with H4831, H1000, and Retumbo. This is the new LR rig for antelope, deer, elk, and bear...
Here is a pic of my dads model 70s with mine. On bottom is his Coyote Lite in 243 with a Leupold vx 2 3-9 w/elevation knob. Shoots 1/2 MOA or better with 42g varget and 70g NBT at 3500fps. Very nice rifles. The one above that is the 264 Win Mag that I gave him. Its an XTR w/24" bbl, but has the most beautiful piece of wood by far out of the 3. It has a Leupold vari x II 6-18x40 AO, fine duplex, with target knobs. Shoots 1/2 MOA or better with 120g NBTs at 3200 with 64.5g H4831.
Really not a bad bunch of model 70s, they are all pretty nice rifles and damned good shooters, I dont believe any of them are going anywhere anytime soon.
Hope the wait was worth it Scotty
