The Aurora CO Sportsmans's Warehouse is being liquidated. According to one of the guys down there, the bank has taken over 23 stores, and another 15 were sold to a third party. Sounds like the company will keep the remaining stores and go into chapter 11.

Last night, everything in the store was on sale, 10-30% off except guns. They haven't decided what they are going to do with the guns yet. Big discounts would be nice.

Antelope_Sniper,

Same thing happened here in fort worth. I found some ok deals but no awesome deals. The firearms i believe were slightly marked down but nothing ridiculously cool.I think they sent the unsold firearms to another store. I was able to get a cool electronic "song dog" call for a good price. Best jump on the reloading stuff quick because it went fast here.Good luck and hope you get some great deals.

Craig,

Most of the reloading stuff has been wiped out and is no more here at the Aurora store. I did manage to get some muzzleloading stuff for 20% off the other day. Guess I'll be shopping a little more at basspro as I can't stand even to walk into the Gander store here.

I copied and pasted this news from the Sportsman's Warehouse website

At least the store in my home town isn't on the chopping block. Makes you wonder why they opened so many stores so fast????

Makes you wonder why they opened so many stores so fast????

There seemed to be an endless supply of money and the economy looked good. Then, Congress began to open the purse while looking for more money to spend, and the people wanted change. Now, we have change.

The one rep here said he thought most of the firearms might get sent to Woodbury MN. Sounds like it does the highest volume of the stores being liquidated.

I got a decent deal on a new badlands pack last week in Memphis. It's on the block too. (as you can see from the list above) I didn't see the one in olive branch MS which is less than 20 miles away from the one in Memphis though.

Went to S/W in Loveland Colorado on Sunday.

What a disappointment!

Nothing and I do mean NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not expecting much, but I'll go hit the one in the middle between Aurora and Loveland...

POP, thanks for the heads up... it's actually faster for me to go to that one than back south...

So if you have been there then you will understand this. They had 3 boxes of Hornady bullets, 4 Noslers, 3 Sierra and 5 speer boxes. That was it.....

kennewick doesnt have much left either. bunch of barnes, no sierras, noslersormuch hornady. 1 lonely can of powder which was 10x. pretty sad

Found this on the UFA Co-op web site:

Calgary, March 11 — UFA Co-operative Limited has successfully acquired 15 Sportsman’s Warehouse locations across the US Northwest.

Sportsman's Warehouse is a US retailer with more than 60 locations. In November UFA announced its intention to acquire a majority interest in Sportsman's Warehouse. The announcement was followed by a comprehensive due diligence process, which has concluded. Based on the outcome of that process and the continuing deterioration of the North American economy, UFA has decided not to pursue the acquisition under the original terms. Instead, and in exchange for its original secured loan, UFA will take possession of 15 Sportsman's Warehouse locations.

“UFA is advancing a deliberate and controlled diversification strategy," says Dallas Thorsteinson, UFA president and CEO. "The specific Sportsman's Warehouse locations we have acquired fit perfectly with our outdoor-adventure marketing and long-term financial strategies."

In 2008, UFA acquired Wholesale Sports, one of Canada's leading outdoor outfitters. Wholesale Sports has seven locations from Winnipeg to Kamloops. The newly acquired Sportsman's Warehouse locations will operate as part of UFA's outdoor adventure division.

The locations are:

Bend, OR
Bozeman, MT
Burlington, WA
Coeur d’Alene, ID
Fargo, ND
Federal Way, WA
Helena, MT
Kennewick, WA
Lacey, WA
Missoula, MT
Portland, OR
Salem, OR
Silverdale, WA
Spokane, WA
Vancouver, WA

“We cannot predict the future for Sportsman's Warehouse," says Thorsteinson, "but we are certain the acquisition of these specific locations is good news for the growth and sustainability of UFA."

About UFA Co-operative Limited

UFA Co-operative Limited is one of Alberta’s most dynamic enterprises. Canada’s largest re-seller of diesel products serves rural communities throughout Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan with a construction division and an unmatched network of retail stores and petroleum outlets. With more than $2 billion in annual revenues and 120,000 active members, UFA is one of Canada’s most successful co-operatives.

Powerstroke, the only location closing in Colorado is the one in Aurora, so I wouldn't expect any sales at the one in Thornton. I checked the Aurora location tonight, 1 box of noslers.

Last night they shipped out the waterfowl decoys, some of the boots and clothing to the MN location.

Hmm, I remember seeing that posted in one of our local UFA's. UFA is a fairly good chain, I think they started into that before the election and then changed the terms after. THe Wholesale Sports stores are the biggest retailers we have here right now, but there is a Bass Pro coming to Edmonton I'm told.

Uhhhh...........why aren't they getting a bailout? :x

No bail outs for fire arms and churches, the "clinging to their guns and religion" mentality.......

JD and Jerry,

These are great zingers. You fellows must be working overtime.

Hate to see the Sportsman Warehouses closing out, but I do admit that I am pleased to see that the Burlington, WA store will remain open. I often stop at Kesselrings, but have recently been advised to visit the Burlington store, which I intend to do shortly.

As happens any time government involves itself in business, winners and loosers are being chosen based on non-market-based conditions. It is no better for certain segments of the business world (pharmaceuticals, insurance, petroleum, Gulfstream, among others) based on the villification of these businesses by our current administration. And now I find it even funnier that the statists (my new term for libs) are targeting individual citizens, and the president himself has a list of people he is openly discussing as bad for the country. Didn't the libs want to use Nixon's 'enemies list' against him in an impeachment proceeding? Once again, Orwell was spot-on. Some truly are more equal than others. You think we could get the dems to change their party symbol from the donkey to the pig?

I did not see anything on the Rocklin or Reno stores on there anyone got any info?
