Sportsman's Warehouse

Online shopping is convenient and often able to offer the same goods at lower prices because costs are lower. Also, product lines can be expanded as floor space does not need to be expanded to display availability. What online shopping cannot do is permit customers to handle the product. Though product specialists can answer questions over the phone, they cannot simultaneously permit the customer to hold the product. There are pluses and minuses to online shopping; but on the whole, it is here to stay. The retail stores will carve out a niche and continue, especially if they compete through offering superior service and a reasonable inventory of product.

Sorta off topic maybe...but I've noticed recently that Cabelas just doesn't appeal to my needs as much these days....the things they carry are fewer and priced higher than Midway...Cabelas has gotten a good share of my money over the years....but lately its been mostly Midway, and even some Brownells (Sinclair)...all online shopping of course./quote]

RR, I have been slowly switching to Midway also. However, New York State's "SAFE" act has really screwed up the on-line shopping for me. I can no longer order ammo, powder or primers. I can only buy locally, and I have to have back ground check with every purchase. Bummer!

For most things I either purchase at local stores, Sportsman's Warehouse being the one with the best selection of bullets and a small mom and pop shop for powder, but for things like Goretex clothing, packs, and other big ticket items, Cabela's by mail is hard to beat. I get to use my Cabela's points.
Optics are purchased elsewhere however.

Cabelas just isn't keeping as much stuff these days...

I'm currently shopping for a bigger ground blind, so my young son can go with me....I was very surprised to find that Midway had far more blinds and stands than Cabelas...and at better prices.

Like I said...I've made good use of that Cabelas Visa over the years...but now every time I go looking for something, Cabelas doesn't have it and Midway does.

Same here, every Sportsman's I visited was a nice store with good prices. Nice rifle selection as well. I wished we had something similar around here.

We do have a very nice one off store near Richmond which gets a bit of my paycheck every now and again.

They might not have the components but if ya gotta have a box in an emergency they do have some available!
