"I want to share a very positive experience I just had with the good folks at Nosler bullets. I'm looking at different bullets to load for my 358, and the 200 grain AccuBond is on my short list. Actually, I already have 50 of them back ordered from Midway.
I asked Linefinder to run some numbers for me, but his quickload program doesn't list this bullet in this weight/caliber combination. Also, from experience with loading my 338x284, I learned that the AccuBond 200 grain .338 bullet is too long. So, I decided to call Nosler and ask about bullet length and get their opinion on whether the 200 grain .358 bullet would work in my 358. I have to load to a max COAL of 2.780 inches.
I spoke to a very knowledgeable and nice person who told me that the bullet length is 1.213 inches. He still wasn't sure if it would work, though, so he begged off the check with someone. About 5 minutes later he came back and informed me that he had gone to their ballistics lab, and actually loaded some bullets. His findings was that if I stayed at 2.780 coal or longer, I was ok. Any shorter, and I would crush the ogive of the casing.
I thought was pretty cool, and just thought it deserved mention"
