Does anybody own the swift manual use to have the info on computer but lost it all
looking for the min and max loads for the 150 gr scirocco 11 in a 280 Remington
with IMR 7828 and 4831 powders current load I have writing on one of the boxes was 54.5 of 7828 it was quit accurate.
Thanks for your time.

Per Swift #2 manual. 150gr Sirocco
IMR7828--51.6grs/2510FPS 55.5grs/2789FPS Load Density 94%
IMR4831--48.4gr/2511FPS 52.0gr/2772FPS Load Density 88%
H-4831--51.2gr/2492FPS 55gr/2727FPS Load density 93%

Better loads are:
RL25-- 54.4gr/2566FPS 58.5gr/2856FPS Load density 99%
RL22--- 53.0gr/2585FPS 57.0gr/2826FPS Load density 97%

Thanks divernhunter those are the only powders I have on hand plus H4350
wont be getting to anywhere soon to try some thing different if I do those
are your suggestions any preference of the 2 or either of those will do.
Thanks for your time.

Here is H-4350 since you have it.
H-4350--47.7gr/2570FPS 51.5gr/2784FPS

I would load IMR7828 or 7828SSC and load max. The swift data is conservative and I have never had trouble with any of their max loads. I load for quite a number of cartridges using swift bullets.
Then try 4831 if you do not get the accuracy you want.
I would be looking for RL25 and 22--Everyone should have some of these 2 powders.
Remember to give the bullets plenty of jump for better accuracy. I was having problems with one rifles and spoke to them at the SCI Conventions. They said give it more bullet jump(just like Barnes bullets) and sure enough the group shrunk

Thanks again I will work up with the 7828 and see, like mentioned I am at 54.5 with the load I had and it was good but wasn't sure if could go higher. I do have both 7828 and the 7828 ssc as well. If I ever get to a larger center that has powder I will look for some 25 or 22.

Divernhunter, what is the recommended C.O.A.L. from Swifts manual?

Maximum Cartridge O.A.I. is 3.330" which is SAAMI standard. The Swift Manual does not give a recommended COAL, opting to print the standard.

Just give them lots of bullet jump for best accuracy. Learned this from Swift at the SCI show and it works especially with the Sirocco bullets

Excellent advice since this is a bonded-core bullet.

That is what I've heard as well ... although each rifle is different, I still like to try recommended coal. SAAMI COAL it is.

about the bullet jump.---I had a hard time(like could not) getting the Sirocco bullets to group in a number of different calibers/cartridges. After talking to them at the SCI convention I came home and set them deeper by quite a bit. All of a sudden I get small groups with them. Please note I do not crimp any of my rifle rounds--even the mags

I’ve tried a couple 280’s where when seated to 3.30 the bullet was still into the lands.

Lately I start them all .100” off and haven’t had to chase them as much.
