Had the final reload test with the 280. All using Nosler bullets. Ballistic tips, Accubonds and Partitions (all in 140 & 150gn bullets as available from Nosler). All using H-4831 powder. Winchester and Remington brass and Fed primers. Groups never exceded 3/4" with all but one being 1/2" @ 100yds. Yep, I am very happy with the Nosler bullets. Just wish they made a .284 AccuBond in 150 gn.

i shoot a 280, and we have a bunch of 7mm-08s, couple of 7mm-mags, a 300 wsm, and one 30-06 in deer camp, and we all shoot nosler. we loaded partitions and accubonds at the same grains and it made no difference with multple powders, they shot the same(some not good).A local gun shop turned me on to nosler partitons about 13 years ago and haven't used anything since. I have shot quite a few accubonds in my 280 and I like the plastic tip, I just can't let go of the partiton. Heh!, my 300 wsm partner would like a (.30) 165 AccuBond!. Nosler is just an awesome product that takes the bullet factor out the the kill. Partitions kill, the rest is up to you! I shoot 160 nosler partitions with 58.5 grains of imr 7828 in my 280 and it is 3/4" at 100 yds.

You will have no regretts with the 280 & the performance of NOSLER. If you want to see something really work, just try the Solid Base on Whitetails. I have a 280 Ackley that loves Noslers. I had problems with the Hornady shedding the jacket and the Speer that just came apart. Never had to try the Partition, no need, the Solid Base I load for woods shooting, Ballistic Tips for standing the field off. The same for the 7mm-08!

Never lost a Deer either.

I left the 30 calibers about 10 years ago, never looked back, other than a 300 Savage that I sometimes carry for old times sake, it was my Dad's rifle.

Well, the groups are not because I am a "great shot". I think the bullets and H-4831 are like magic in my 280. Infact, this weekend I had a group at 1/4". I just can't believe it. Wake me up . . . I must be sleeping.
