I was within 50 yards of this one. Was on my way home from quail hunting - no quail were harmed during said hunt and the shotgun barrels are still clean doggone it! Saw our local herd of bighorn sheep near the highway. I pulled the Jeep over, well off the roadway. The critters are so used to cars on and near the highway they weren't worried about my Jeep at all. I got out and kept close to the Jeep and snapped at least a dozen photos.

I use a 100-400 zoom lens on my Olympus OM-D camera. It's not the perfect wildlife photography lens, but it does well enough when there's decent light.

Great picture as always. As a kid growing up reading Jack O'Conner and his sheep hunting adventures, I have never gotten tired of looking at sheep (wild ones) Dan.
