this is probly a silly question  but do you trim the brass before belling the case or after ??? ive been trimming after belling and it works fine,, just wasnt sure i was doing it in the right order

Yes before if you feel you need to. I never trim my straight walled pistol brass and have never found a need to. I get plenty of loads out of my brass. Bottlenecked brass flows due to the taper. Straight walled brass does not seem to grow were you would need to trim.
But if it makes you feel better go ahead and trim before belling.

Trim befor belling.
Straight wall pistol brass that is fired in an auto pistol, 45 auto, 40S&W, 9mm, head spaces on the neck.
Don't trim too much.
Trimming will also allow for a uniform taper crimp.

im trimming because its new brass and i want it all uniform,, the reason im asking is because the lyman universal trimmer i have ,,, that im getting rid of > had nothing but problems with it :x ,,, has the insert for the 9mm (35),, but it wont fit the case mouth unless its been belled ???
