Turkey Season Opener 2008

The MI late Turkey Season opened this morning and ended with a nice Tom.
He came into the decoy set up which consisted of a Primos B Mobil Strutting Tom and a couple of hen decoys.
I shot him with my 11-87 Super Mag 12 ga 3.5"" mag and 2/14 oz of Hevi Shot #5 at 25 yds.
The beard is 9.5" and the spurs are 1.5" long.

Way cool JD!! My season opens on Sunday. Think I will be lucky to see one let alone drop a nice Tom like that. They tell me having 'em smoked is a great way to eat 'em. Congrats CL

My nephew came down to hunt and took a nice Tom behind my house. He has a 10.5" beard and 7/8" spurs. An excellent first bird.
