What calibers do we need?

The question is what "calibers" do we need, but everyone appears to be answering what "cartridges" we need. Calibres, I'd say 28 calibre and 35 calibre. Cartridges? I'm not even going there.
Please do sir.
I'm interested to hear. Yes, I admit to a syntax error of grave proportions and can only beg forgiveness from the members.

Congratulations Vince that would be a dream move for me as well. I think that being Canadian I would have to stay within Canada .
If I was 30 something again I would take a serious look at the Dawson Creek area :). I really believe that Doc has the best of both worlds as he has the rolling hills & is 1/2 hour from the Mountains .

Blessings,
Dan

Yup! I could speak Canuck I believe! I love BC!
Eh?

It would be inappropriate for me to speculate of a world in which I was constrained by such a restriction. Two cartridges? It gives me heart palpations just thinking of such a dreadful existence. I have to go get a cuppa' joe just thinking about such a condition. And my legs have gone completely wobbly at the thought. "Saint Peter, how the gate, I think I'm coming home! Gasp!"

Shocked! Shocked! I couldn't even spell. I meant to tell Saint Peter to "hold" the gate. Lucky for me that there was that mangling of the language so that he didn't understand what I was saying. I'm almost recovered. I've got a cuppa' "Tim Horton's" (that's Burger King to all you Democrat trolls trying to stop BK from moving to the Great White North). All is almost under control again. I even have my breathing under some semblance of control. As for the nursing business, Vince, keep those lips away from me. I am in need of CPR just yet.

Hey, good move on heading for Alaska, though. I was on my way when I was diverted to Lotusland.

Best check that spelling again or pucker up big boy. ;)
Freudian slip much? [emoji2]

Yup, there is lingering anomia and should I attempt to walk, I'm certain there is pronounced ataxia. Perhaps I require some strong stimulants to get everything under control again? If I knew a doctor, I'd consult on this case.

I do live where big bears roam and have been very happy with the .300WSM and several flavors of .375...I wouldn't shoot coyotes with the .300 except under duress but it makes a stellar everything in one rifle. Kinda like the .30-06...only better.

And if I followed this regimen, I'd be comatose!

Calibers...
I'd be leaning heavily on the 7mm and 338...

Cartridges...
280 Rem and 338-06....or
7MM Rem Mag and 338 Win Mag...or
6.5 x 55 and 9.3 x 62 just to add some nostalgic, European flair! (Those Sako's are still calling to me!!!)

I'm almost comasleep tonight as I did follow that regimen.
Not my norm but the neighbor's daughter came home from a year in Panama and we celebrated a little. Her parents and my wife and I, along with her friends. It was fun and cool. I enjoyed the debates on various topics.

20140827_215012.jpgI will ponder the responses tonight over some pie.
I'll keep the following for sure:
6.5x284 Norma
30-06
338 Win Mag
25-06 ( in case SWMBO decides she wants to hunt and right handed for others as a loaner )
.223 AR platform
10/22 (Too much fun to part with.)

I'd say 6.5-300wm and .375-358STA or 375 H&H Imp. of some flavor. If barrel life is a concern then I'd have to pick something with a little less zip in 6.5mm.

Looks like I've got my battery down to where it needs to be.
I'll have to make some shotgun selections too. The handguns aren't going on the trading block.

25-06 and 375 Ruger. I have never shot the 375 Ruger but I am guessing it could cover anything the 25-06 could not handle.

Lots of compelling combinations. With modern bullets there's a lot to be said for a .270 and .338WM...hard to imagine anything either of those wouldn't cover.
