Could use some help on this one. Don't want to spend over $250. So i have a few choices,

I have two, a PACT professional (very old model, but still a good chrono) and a Beta Master Chrony. I like the PACT, and their warranty is impossible to beat, but the Beta Master Chrony has become my go-to range chrony, because it is so easy to setup and easy to work with. I don't use any of the statistical features of either chronograph, as I wrote a spreadsheet to do the calculations I wanted, in a layout I like, that I can manipulate and constantly add to if I like, but they both read velocity well, and I check them against one another sometimes to be sure. If you get a chrony, get one of the Master series. It is well worth the extra to have the brains sitting on the bench, behind the firing line, as well as being much easier to read and take notes from. If I hadn't won the BMC in a contest, I wouldn't be using it, as I like the PACT, but the chrony is just too portable not to use. If I were buying one now, knowing what I know, I'd just buy the Alpha Master or the F-1 Master model, but you might like the statistical analysis on the chrony.

FYI, Midway has the Master Alpha on sale for $99.99 through the end of the month.

I have been using a Chrony Beta Master for a couple of years now and cannot thing of anything else I would like it to do. Fast to set up and easy to use once you get the hang of it. I like the master series as it gives you the remote display. They are around $120 around here.

I ordered the beta master. Looking forward to some range work and some more fine tuning on my .257 WBY loads.
thanks again for all the responses!
