out of a 2" 38 snub? Specifically I have a Rossi 5 shot ss M88. :?:

Corbon DPX +P 110 grain load. Shoots great and from every report I have read it penetrates and expands perfectly. Where as some of the others fail to expand in a 2" barrel.

Another good one to look at is the Speer +P 135 grain gold dot Short barrel load. heres a link... http://www.speer-ammo.com/products/short_brl.aspx

Plus the classic FBI load is always a good load.

Here is a couple good arcticles on the subject of .38's

Question is can +P be fired safely (once in a while) in the Rossi M88. I can not find any info on it as far as that goes.

Sorry, didn't even think about that Pop. I'm not sure. You might want to call Rossi. I can tell you though that most manafactures shy away from +P ratings with the exception of the newer .38special or for military/police use.

I carry a S&W 642 alot for off duty use and use the Corbon load.

PoP, I was always intrigued by the Hornady 158gr XTP. They make one with a pretty deep hollow point and a very low velocity rating. To my eye it always looked like a bullet that could make a 38 snubby respectable.
