Where are you hunting in 2012

Looks like I just got a Bull elk tag in unit 22N in Arizona. Time to break in my Whelen!!

Nice! Now that sounds like a good hunt!

wayno945,

Congratulations. That sounds like a great draw on your part. You certainly have a great cartridge for the hunt. Best of luck to you.

Congrats mate! I was skunked on my tag, but let me know if you need a gun bearer or pack mule. I don't want to sit out another elk season. :)

Lania and Molokai for Axis deer.
Oahu for pigs, lots of pigs.

Russ,

Have you ever hunted Kauai for blacktails? It looked like pretty rough country when I was over there and I've always want to go back and try hunting something. The success rate is dismal though.

I am excited for this year's hunts!
Wy: antelope--this will be my wife's first big game hunt. It has taken 11 years to get her interested, but the wait will be worth it!

Congratulations! Here's pulling for her to be successful and to enjoy the hunt. Nothing quite so great as sharing your joy of the outdoors with your spouse and/or children.

The family, all six of us are there together for about 50% of the hunts if not on the actual hunt then at camp when I get back. Here is a pic of last year's archery buck! My wife is behind the camera. All four children were there from the bow shot to the field dressing to the meat locker to the plate! I still get goose bumps thinking about my family and the possibilities for the future!

That is a great picture. Congratulations on a great family that enjoys sharing the hunt.

Nathan,
Never went to Kauai for Blacktail. Yep they don't get to many. The guys that I know who go said that its mostly find a trail and sit for the day. Lanai and Molokai have so many that they are a problem. I like going to hunt where they are a problem.

I like curing problems too.

Heading to the great state of Idaho with JDMAG. We left a couple to get bigger last time so they should be about ready now.
OTC tags for elk/deer/wolf. It doesn't look like they've re-instituted any of the cow hunts yet so we'll be stuck having to shoot a rangy old bull.
Greg

There are plenty of good cow drawing hunts Greg. You can't draw if you don't put in and the application time starts May 1st.

We may run across one another Greg.. We will be beating the mountains down a little as well in ID!

I've done that before...

I am SOOOOO looking forward to the break! Even if I leave some behind this year too!

I put in for the Kentucky Elk Lottery.. Never know I guess. Not a big gambler, but I figure that is one lottery that would be some fun to win. Only costs 20.00 to put in for cow and bull, so I figured it would be fun. I think my hunting partner put in for the same too..

My wife, I, and 3 friends will be hunting elk and deer in nw colorado third season again this year. We all applied for cow elk tags and buck tags and will buy over the counter bull tags later in the Summer when they are available. My wife and I may also do a little deer hunting in Michigan, depending on when we go back to visit. Thanksgiving makes sense to me :)

Well, 2012 big game season is officially under way for me. Been out looking for a brown bear but no luck yet. More wake up every day now as a few have already been killed, so we'll see...

Good luck buddy! Really looking forward to your success. The Brown Bear is an animal I would love to hunt in the future.
