Where’s Dr Mike?

Thanks for asking, Walkinghorse. I'm still around; lurking more than posting. Growing older ain't for wimps! A degenerating cervical spine has left me with with some severe deficits in my ulnar nerves (bilateral). My broken lumbar spine (resulting from some youthful excursions) has also caught up with me, making it difficult to stand very long. (Anything I detest, its a degenerate preacher! And if he's spineless, all the worse!) Writing is increasingly difficult, and much of my correspondence is being curtailed. I am able to get out for brief excursions into the mountains. I was out with a friend last evening. We saw three bears, three moose, and a number of mule deer. Didn't shoot any bears, but it was good to see the bruins. Going into the bush for wounded or downed bears is about out of the question for me now. So, I try to arrange going out with younger fellows or ensure that we have a winch on the truck. Otherwise...

Say on my brother!!

Dr. you are not alone. It's happening to all of us. Wish i had the genes of my 83 yr old uncle. Up until a few months ago he was still putting roofs on. The guy he helps won't let him on a roof now.

The trials and tribulations of the tax we pay for decisions we make when we are bullet proof and immortal can be heavy. At the end of the day, father time makes sure we all pay the piper. We are too smart to listen in our youth, too bullet proof to yield, and too proud to change course..... then it all catches up. I'm not 80, but the price of my activities and choices are starting to come and I know... I'm going to be in for it as it progresses!

Glad to hear you are marching on @DrMike and finding a way to get out on the MTN

Hoping you can find ways to stay active and content Dr. Mike. I have been having my own health issues that have an unknown cause. I had excruciating stomach pain maybe a month ago and felt out of sorts since then. Had it happen again yesterday, but I managed to catch it with some pain killer before it got bad. Still leaves me with brain fog, a disgruntled stomach, and feeling worn down though. Maybe some sort of allergic reaction I am thinking at this point, combined with chronic fatique that I have had for years.
