...especially when they decide to start hunting!

First of all...don't get me wrong...I'm very happy that she decided to hunt, VERY HAPPY!

But since she made that decision last year...

Rem 700 (270)....$400
Hunting boots...$120
Insulated bibs...$140
Supply of brass and bullets for the 270...$200
Scope...$200

And she still needs a coat  , but her Dad has that covered (her birthday is coming up soon)

In all reality...this has made me realize just how much I have invested in this sport I love so much over the years. I shouldn't be complaining (I'm not really...just making conversation, LOL) because while I was shopping for her hunting stuff...I bought me some too, LOL.

New bibs, new boots, new coat...about $500 worth...I think I'm gonna need a 2nd job soon.

RR,

I'm with ya. My daughter started hunting last year.

Its not my daughter (I have 2 sons...no daughters)...its my wife.

But yes...its all good (honestly, very good)...I tried for years to get her to hunt and she never would so I gave up. Then all of the sudden she pops up and says "I'm gonna hunt next year...whats a good rifle for me?"....and the rest is history.

I bought her a used Rem 700 ADL in 270 that I have owned twice before (trading among friends)...I figured that would be a good all around rifle for her (plenty of power, not much recoil)...she's a shooter, and is darn good at it, but has never hunted anything.

Hey, it beats new furniture, or new shoes, or new jewelry, or...

Just wait until you have 3 kids.

They need clothes, rifles, boots, etc. At least as they grow you can do the hand-me-down thing for a lot of the items... and I never mind having an extra rifle around.

I'm laughing over here. This what my wife said to me after almost 20 years of marriage. It started out with her handling my (her's now) Rem mod 7 in 243 SS camo stock. "It sure it nice looking" & "cute" ....... She took hunters safety - she took that gun ....... she went "clothes shopping". I don't know what cost more the hunting clothes or the trip to Spokane.

It's been great, she hunts enough to make her happy and gets her deer every year. We've has been enjoying it.

Thats great RR. My wife now hunts with me archery, rifle, and muzzleloader. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Now, if i can just convince her that she needs a pack board.

Blessed is the man whose wife hunts with him. As wonderful as it is to have our sons and daughters share in our hunts, there is something special about sharing with our wife the cornucopia of nature that visually and audibly stimulates our senses.

Now that's funny!! With my wife she's the shooter and I'm the ....
Pre Hunt Prep Person
The Breakfast Cook....
The Driver.....
The Guide.....
The Pack Mule .....
The Meat Processor ... (She dos help with the wrapping) so I'll take it!!!

and will take seconds on "Bite Size Elk meat" ...

I've not once complained ... it is nice having her out there once in a while.

My Anna (11 yrs old) is in Hunter safety class all this weekend!

My wife bow hunts and goes fishing with me all the time. She does not like guns so I can respect that. Buying treestands is easier now because they are for us to use not just me. In 2 years, she has shot 3 deer. Tonight was the first time ever she hunted by herself. She had a spike at 40 yards and a fawn at 30. It is fun to watch her get excited over seeing or hearing a deer in the woods. I hope she can get a deer this year.

that table looks like a fold open for dinner in front of the TV. LOL

Guess you broke the bank to set her up and got desperate aye?

She coulda shot off the tool tote...her decision....the tool tote is pretty stable....but not quite perfect either.
