X-Bullets I gotta get rid of...... on what?

I shot the 180gr XLC outta my 300WM also. It was decently accurate, and I took one bull elk and a few muleys with it. They were all shoulder shots on them, so they were all planted in place, and all exited, so I never recovered anything. I have since gone back the PT or AB and am completely happy about it! Other than bone crushing shots, Noslers seems to have much better killing effects for me. Although, I cannot complain a single bit about any Barnes bullets, but I don't have a ton of trust in them once speed drops off. Scotty

I don't have a ton of trust in them once speed drops off.

For optimal performance, they are sensitive to velocity. A hole through the lungs will kill, but they need to expand to anchor game. I've dropped quite a few head of game with X-Bullets and TSX, but I prefer to use them with high-stepping cartridges.

Scotty,

Great Pics and nice Buck. That looks like typical Mule Deer Country similar to kind I hunt. Was that in Colorado?

Still good looking territory to me. Hoping to draw a Muley License this year in Colorado, wanting to try the Ultra out with the 180 AB.

Thanks Don. That is my favorite hunting area ever! Love Idaho. Wished I was going there this year to whack me a wolf. Heck, I just might get there if I am lucky! Can't imagine a better rifle for those muleys than your RUM and 180gr AB's. Scotty
