Not a fan of 50 mm scopes but there is a gun I like for sale that comes with one of those. Are they any good?

I could buy the gun and sell the scope or maybe put it on my Wife's 6.5x55 if it is a decent buy. Regardless I'll put a Burris we own already on the gun if I go ahead on it, either the scope of her gun or a spare 3-9x40 I keep on hand. The gun is a LH Browning X bolt in 270 Win to replace the Remington 700 I sold. I like the Browning BLR in 270 Win as well so have been looking for either one of those or the X bolt.

I've only looked through a couple of the Terra scopes, Gerry. I wasn't terribly impressed. They are a good scope, which is damning with faint praise when speaking of a Zeiss. I don't know that it is better than your Burris and likely less robust than a VX3. The fifty mm objectives are becoming sort of an "in" thing. The last two scopes I picked up were 50 mil scopes (and one is a Diavari). Can't say that I'm a great fan of this larger objective, but they do serve a purpose. Just my opinion, and it is worth about what you paid for it.

Good to know DrMike, I value your opinion on many things and know you know your scopes. Maybe I will pass on this one then.
