You will love the rifle and the chambering! Beautiful #1 by the way. A 4.5-14x40mm Leupold with the Boone & Crockett reticle would be a great scope on it...........just saying.

I think part of he problem stems from Remngton's request to keep the Maximum Average Pressure at the same level as the 30-06. The did the same with the .35 Whelen. They said they were afraid loasinf them to their full pressure would damage their pump and semi-auto rifles. I can run my .280 up to2900 FPS and change with excellent accuracy. That's pushing close to the .280 AI and 7MM Rem. Mag.
Remington didn't do either cartridge any favors.
