Thanks pop. I'm guessing that the 450 grain bullet in the quickload is similar to the 430 grainer. It'll be a good starting point none the less.
I'm open for any other suggestions guys.
I think short magazines is the rifle manufacturer. I have a Sako 75 in 300 win mag and my magazine box measures 3.750". I am able to seat 210 bergers 0.010" into the lands at a col of 3.360". So you see that it is the rifle manufacturer and their particular design that dictates the magazine box...
I'm looking for some load data for my 450 guide gun. I have some heavy bullets that I want to try. They are 430 grain trueshot fp gc. Any load information is appreciated.
Mine does that too when the cartridge is too long. If you are reloading this round with the ftx bullet, then you have to follow the instructions from hornady's web site and I have the link below for you

Carefully trim the cases like...
My vote goes for 165 grainers and IMR 4350. Accuracy and velocity are great with this combination. I have loaded it for friends and it works great, although I never owned a 30-06.
Sounds like you found a 100 grain load. Cloverleafs at 3600 are great. Run the ballistics, practically no difference between 3700 and 3600. You have a great load. Good work up. I do have a load for 110 accubonds though. It is 71.0 grains IMR 7828 and it yields 3500 fps. This load is scary...
For the 44 rem mag, I use rem cases, 23.7 ww 296 and wolf lpm primers. This gets me 1350 in my 8 3/8" 629. The ww powder really burns clean and is very accurate and consistent.
I've never had any luck finding the right combination of speed and accuracy with any of the slower powders and the 100 grainer. IMR 7828 always gave me the most velocity and groups were outstanding with it.
With the 115, that's a different story. My go to load is very accurate and flat shooting...
I went to a GS Custom 100 grainer for more speed. These bullets shoot great by the way. 73.5 grains IMR 7828 would regularly give me 3690 fps average and shoot well under 1/2 moa. My extreme spreads would also hover between 11 and 20. Work up to this though, it's pretty warm. The GS is coated...
A benchrest seater die will certainly improve or reduce runout and will likely improve your overall accuracy. COAL is simply finding your rifles sweet spot and being able to repeat that measurement if you change your die to seat another bullet. Micrometer adjustments are helpful in the sense...
My best luck with 100-110 grain bullets, IMR7828. With the 115's, H1000. H1000 really performed stellar with the 115's and velocity's stayed very consistent in hot or cold weather. RL25 worked really well with the 115's too, but was really temperature sensitive. Good luck with your load...
Good read bullet. The 338wm has long been favored by big game hunters everywhere there is big game. Not too popular in the south, but probably the most popular in areas like Alaska and Canada.
I really get 100 grainers smoking with IMR7828 and the 115 grainers are really fast and accurate with H1000. I've tried all of the powders and found these two the most accurate and fast. The IMR7828 is also really good with the 110 NAB. Seating depth can be the key here as mentioned above. I...
DF, I always at least true my brass with a neck turner. I find that brass thickness in the case walls of the necks to always be a little out. You'll find that you may take a little off one side and not touch the other. A little at the bottom of the neck and not at the top. Just true them if your...
