I have more than plenty of Large Rifle magnum primers for now till who knows when - :) :)
..but I just now noticed that I only have about 400 Large Rifle primers which are used for the 7mm-08. If for some reason we don't see primers back on the shelves for 2013, can one use Large Rifle Magnum...
As I read these posts about the shelves going empty I thought, "ah heck, that is not going to happen here in Colorado Springs". I heard that they were so busy at the stores they were not taking calls but only call back numbers so I decided to take a trip this afternoon.
Well....... ""poooof""...
One of my few complaints with my Z5 4-20x50mm is the eyebox.
It has nothing to do with the ocular lens or any other adjustment. Once you are above the 10x+, trying to get an easy full view is quite the task.
Not just a few friends and range acquaintences but every single person trying to get...
As much as I love my rifles, I believe that no matter what we do, the BAN is inevitable based on US support for the United Nations. I also believe religion will also be banned.
I have both and I am keeping both. I specifically chose the latter rifle (7mm RM) to fulfill what I like to believe the full spectrum of hunting rifles for my gun safe. Yup there are other calibers along with the short mag non belted calibers, I just feel these two are my keepers.
Regarding...
Just as another hunter mentioned his lesson learned I thought I would add mine. Sadly I just learned a big lesson.
Backup rifle 7mm Rem Mag was shooting perfect consistent 3-4 shot clovers with final RL-22 custom load. Cleaned rifle and went to range to foul barrel on Saturday. Wind was...
RL-22 --> Yup had the same problem with variation so much so this last 2 months on 3 different cans that I had to redo a hunting camp partner's 300 Win Mag custom reload and my 7mm Rem Mag custom reloads. I still am sticking to the RL-22 though. The 300 Win Mag is shooting consistent 1/2" groups...
My wife is a little delicate 110 pound lady. After following the recommendations here on the board, I got her a 7mm-08 and she shoots 120 gr BTs. Little recoil and she loves it.
338winmag
160 gr Nosler Accubond!!!!!
I am starting on year 1. I can actually go faster but not enough time to test before leaving for hunting camp next week.
Thanks Fotis!
Okay I learned a lesson today.
I need to stop being so cheap and trying to get maximum number of reloads from my 7mm Rem Mag brass. I read someone's post reply on here the other day regarding his 7mm Rem Mag brass and only get 5 reloads out of it and then toss it. Thats what I did yesterday...
I have custom reloaded one hunter's 30-06 with 180 Nosler Partition & RL-17. Getting Nosler text book velocities only (about 2700 FPS - nothing significant in FPS but a clover inside an 3/4" at 100 yards)
I have custom loaded another hunter's 30-06 with Hornady 165 Interlock and SST. Again...
Well this has come down to a troubling question for this year's hunting camp. In previous camps, game was not divided up among the whole camp. Other than a few steaks given to each of the people in camp. the hunter that shot the game, kept the game for his household.
This year we have brought...
Update:
I contacted American Express. They have never heard of a "customer service investigation" for a wrong product sent. They removed the charge and they are contacting OpticsPlanet and requesting payment back directly to them. This is why we use American Express almost exclusively.
Thanks guys
Fellow Nosler Friends - thanks for the support and also being candid on your experiences too. I had an immediate bad feeling when the CS rep's first response was it would first have to go to "investigations"?? I have never heard of such a thing ever in a purchase.
I purchased with Ameircan...
This is an FYI for scope or other optics purchases. Fellow Nosler friends, buyer beware.
We had approximately 28 days left to buy a new scope for one of our camp hunter's rifles (the 300 win mag). We could not find the scope he wanted locally so after some internet research, we decided to go...
Oh man I got to jump in.
I like and use magnums because of the following:
1. I luv the names - is that just psychological - yup, and again I luv the names
2. I luv the extra umphh - yup, extra power - just call me "Tim The Tool Man Tailor"
3. I luv the extra teenie weenie ballistic...
NIce shooting Scotty!! Man that is a lot of different rifle shooting. Fun day at the range.
...and for this post, most importantly, WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!
Steve
Yeah it's happening all over. I grew up hunting and for most of my life, have owned firearms. I love to hunt and shoot but I personally believe the days are near when this will all be taken away. :(
