I have had one since 1999. Its a P226.
Crazy accurate. It likes most ammo but loves Speer Gold Dots. Its my most carried pistol. Never had a FTF or a hiccup of any sort. I stocked up on some Speer FMJ target loads about a year ago thankfully. Ammo is not easy to find.
Finally had a day to hit the range and shoot my new huntin pistol.
I had ordered some Doubletap .45 colt +P loads to play with. They are 300 gr bonded JSP at 1300 fps. I shot at 25 to confirm my scope was on, then moved to 50. This was off a rest at 50 yds. I should be able to kill a 120...
Several years ago I made a grave mistake that I still regret today- I sold my hunting revolver. It was a 8" Colt Anaconda in .44 mag. It wore a 2x Leupold. I killed several deer with it and like a lot of people on here, sold a gun I shouldnt have. Anyway through the years I have been...
I am friends with a couple of older "retired" hunters who dont get out any more. They get a lot of venison and ducks. I work with a guy that absolutely loves geese. He puts in his order every year!
For early doe season I will be using my TC Omega in .45. Nikon 3-9x40 scope. It shoots 200gr Hornady SST very well with 110gr of 777 3f.
For regular rifle season Im gonna use my .308 BLR Mossyoak/Stainless with Leupold 2.5-8x36 shooting 150gr hornady SST. Also going to bring my new Win M70...
Yeah, went to Island Lake. Its 10 minutes from my front door. Didnt figure it would be that crowded this far til November 15th.
I was wrong.
Hadnt shot rifles there on a Sunday in awhile. Forgot what it was like. I usually go there on a Thursday at 11am and its nice.
Finally had a day off that wasnt windy, stormy, 100 degrees, or filled with demands from the better half. I had purchased a Win M70 Extreme Weather in 7wsm awile back and topped it with a Minox 3-15x42 XR-BDC. I also had negotiated a heck of a deal on some Federal Premium ammo in both the...
Went and picked it up today!
This thing is slick!
I had tossed around different ideas for a scope and finally decided that I was gonna step out of my Leupold comfort zone. I ended up buying a Minox ZA-5 3-15x42 with the XR-BDC reticle. Been hearing a ton of good things about these and...
I have a BLR in .308. When I bought it, I also bought six boxes of the 150 gr Hornady SST load. Standard, not superformance. The thing groups 1.25. Not bad for a lever. I was at a gun show and saw some 150gr SST but in the superformance. Was a very resonable price so I bought a box to try...
Dr Mike-
Yeah it was a win!
When it comes to haggling, I gotta tell you that I have no skill or patience for it. If you added up my record it would probably be will under .500!
Had the day off which is always dangerous. Went to the local gunshop to trade a shotgun in on a rifle. They gave me what I had into the shotgun so I put that towards a new Winchester M70 Extreme Weather. They didnt have the 7mm wsm in stock so they had to order it, the distributor actually...
I had a tag for our first season here in Michigan. My tag was good from April 23-29. For those in Michigan it was for area K, north central Michigan. The weather didn't look promising but the last time that I had back to back days off were New Years Eve and New Years Day, so I really didnt...
