well, i'm going to the gun shop i located the mohawk at and see if i can get a good deal on it. i had one in 6mm that i bought for $250 a couple of years ago and regretably sold it. they are wanting $350 for this one and it is in worse shape, stock-wise than the 6mm was. i plan on refinishing...

what kind of velocities do you think are attainable with the short 18.5" barrel using bullets in the 85-100grain range?

i recently bought a bunch, and i mean a bunch of the nosler 130gr soild base. my loads with RL22 are the only ones that give me decent accuracy. i'm getting about 3150fps and 1-1.25" groups. my rifle really likes the 140 accubond better.

i use mostly winchester large rifle primers in my 270, 25/06 and such. the local shop has a lot of remington large primers. just wondering how they compare? i really don't won't to have to start over with load development, but i'm tempted to get them anyway.

my rem 700 likes nosler 150gr. accubonds and imr4350. i getting about 3200fps and 3/4" groups.

that's kind of what i'm thinking.

i've been using the 110 ab in both my .25/06s with great luck. never shot the 100 partition. thinking about giving them a try. just wanting to see where everyone thinks they stack up? i know the 100gr partition can be pushed about 100-125fps faster.

i have a nef singleshot .223 that likes w748 real well. with 40gr and 50gr. bt's and vmax's it shoots under 3/4" usually. than run 3350fps and 3100fps. i would like to try a powder that might give me a little better velocity. i've tried h335 but the accuracy and velocity suffer. any suggestions.

6mm 100ab, 25 120ab

can't complain about the accuracy. i would like to get the velocity up closer to the 2900-3000fps range though. i have several other loads which produce 3000fps, but the accuracy is not as good as with RL22.

today i shot some mild loads (2650fps) with the 100 grain nosler solid base in my 22" 700 .243. the groups were quite good in the 3/8-1/2" range. just wondering if anyone has had any luck with this powder and cartridge? my load was 41.0grains, win brass and win wlr primer.

t/c encore h4831sc and 120grt. hornady HP @ 3050fps ruger 77(old tang safety style) imr4350 and 110 AB @ 3175fps

imr4350 with the 150 AB gives me 3200fps and subinch groups. imr4831 with the 165 AB gives me 3100fps and the same subinch groups. both performed great on the deer i've taken.

bust'm in the shoulder and you'll get more of an exit. just good for ground meat anyway. i've had real good luck with the combo you mentioned. closest shot about 75yds, longest about 250. guess no bullet is perfect.

the 110 ab has done great for me on whitetail, antelope and mule deer. another good bullet is the hornady 120 hollowpoint. its a good controlled expansion bullet. i've never recovered one because they all exit with about 1-2" hole.

140gr AB 60.0gr of H4831sc remington brass winchester large primer OAL of 3.437" i get 3000fps and 3/4" groups out of a 24" douglas barrel. no pressure signs and it thumped a big mule deer.

JD338, no it doesn't. its in great shape and supposedly only been fires about 50 times. still not sure about getting it. would like a .243 or .6mm for the kids, but i can download the .308 and load it fullbore later on i guess.

ran across a remington 600 mohawk in .308 for sale. wondering what is an attainable velocity with 150 grain handloads, ballpark figure of course? i was thinking maybe 2700fps.

nosler 140gr. accubond with 60.0 of H4831, rem brass and winchester primer. 3.437"oal. i get 3/4" groups and 3000fps. rifle is a remington 700 with custom 24" douglas barrel.

got one in .223. i think the best calibers accuracy-wise are the .223, .30/30 and the .308. i'm sure there are others, but these are the ones i've heard the most good about. the 243 i hear doesn't stabilize bullets vey well once you get over 80grains or so. they are a good gun for the money...
