what would i need done to turn a standard action m77 hawkeye into a 458 win mag? is the stock strong enough?
i wont be shooting full power loads only about 350 at 23-2400
got an either sex draw for the elk in 7-22, wich is about 2.5 hours north of here, its gonna be cold though--dec.-feb i think
knives dont work so well with frozen blood on them
some times my tc closes with a dull thunk  , instead of the crisp locking sound it should, when it closes with the dull thud, either it pops open randomly or you cant cock the hammer, why wont it close reliably,??any ideas
a tc encore that closes reliably every time, unlike mine :x
or a 416 ruger hawkeye alaskan, witha pachmyer decelerator pad loaded with 325grain accubonds(wish i had all that)
just wondering if anybody has tried the new ruger yet, any loads out for it :?:
ive heard recoil is VERY managable, even less then the 375 but i find this hard to believe, so any body with one, how bout a review and maby some light loads that wont break the bank, or my shoulder :)
what about a heavy jacketed 225grain 338 ballistic tip---affordable/accurate moose bullets
or a 200 grain 30cal b-tip
or, they could just DROP the prices of there current bullets :)
would it be possible to rechamber my 308 win ( tc encore barrel)
to a 300 win mag?would the extractory part still fit, how would i do this,
$??
i know its lots of questions but i dont do this stuff yet , so any help is appreciated
maybe even try the chrony right in front of the barrel, as close as you can, and then maybe at 5 and 10 feet, to see if the bullet accelerates at all from muzzle, to 5 feet(or 10)
i also found this today on yahoo ansers ( i googled the accelerating bullet question)
Bullet acceleration after...
i look forward to seeing the results hardpan
my guess would be that the smallbores (257wby) would have more of an increase , due to the higher pressures generated by such cartridges, and the lighter bullet to push on.
could a boat tail vs flat base make a measurable difference, afterall the...
well hardpan, muzzlebreaks work by diverting the gasses to the side of the barrel reducing the jet effect(recoil) of the escaping gasses.on an unbraked rifle, the gasses coming out the end of the barrel should(in my opinion) speed up the bullet
in a braked rifle, the gases are pushed back to the...
ridge runner-
it has always been my understanding that a bullet continues to accelerate after it has left the barrel, for about 5 feet or so due to the gasses behind it :? i believe a muzzle break would decrease velocity, but not by 10%
so yes, i am dissagreeing with both of you
