I am heading to Montana in a month for an elk hunt using the the good ole' 7mm Rem Mag. I plan on using the 160 gr Accubond and would love to hear any successes stories or failures with the 160 Accubond.
Guy,
Here is my two cents. You can never ever have to many rifles! But I do understand you dilemma. Keep the caliber rifle that you do not have already.

When I first started reloading my 7mm Rem Mag, I tried Federal GM215M primers and I have not had to change. They have work great in my receipe.
Now, I hear that they are hard to find with the shortage and I only have a 100 left.
Buckfever,
They are a blast to hunt. You wouldn't believe how fast they can cover ground. This ranch that I hunt on is rolling hills with a lot of manzanita, oak trees and poision oak. :x We have spotted them on one hill and wathced move a 1000 yards in 5 to 10 minutes. There eye sight is...
JD,
Sorry! couldn't recover the bullet. I have a feeling it was in the intrails because it did not make it to the other shoulder. Which I could understand when I saw how thick his armour plate was. That bullet went through 2 inches of armour and shoulder bone. By some chance if the bullet is...
Looks like I'll have another year's supply of pork. I let the 7MM Rem Mag with 160 gr Accubond bark and here is the results.
It was 7:00 am Saturday morning and I was heading down the hill along the river when my eye caught movement to the right. The big boy just finished grabbing his...
Northwoods,
I am going to give the 160 Accubonds in my 7mm Rem Mag a try on an elk hunt in Montana this October. I have the utmost confidence in this bullet to take an elk. They are very accurate and shot placement is what it is all about. IMHO
I shot the 60 gr Partition in my Kimber 22-250 as well. Even though the twist is 12, I have had some pretty good luck with accuracy.....nothing like the 55 gr BT. On the 60 gr Partitions, I was using a grain under max of Varget and getting 1 inch groups at a 100 yrds. On the other hand the 55...
I've got the Ruger 10/22 ready for her.
Couple of years ago I bought a Ruger 10/22 Target rifle with a bull barrel and topped it with a Bushnell 3x9. It is a great shooter. she should progrees into it nicely.
Yeah..we tried my rest and sand bag but she couldn't get the sight picture. The gun is a little long for her right now. Can't cut it down because it is plastic. Thanks!
A friend of mine had one made from HS Precision and took it to Africa. Used the 200 grain Accubond and one shot everything which included a Eland, Kudu, and Gemsbok.
He said the 325wsm performed flawlessly. I believed he had them cut the barrel to 22 inches. I got a chance to shoot it and it...
