They were actually the Nosler Custom Trophy Grade factory ammo. I never chronographed them. Out of the light barrel of my Remington 700 Mountain Guide Rifle, 3 shots can be covered with a quarter. But then this gun is really accurate with almost everything I shoot in it.

The first impala and both blesbucks will be getting shoulder mounts. The second impala will be getting a european mount with the hide tanned. The warthog I will be using the tusks to make into a necklace. I will be going back in a couple years, but I'll have a package with bushbuck, impala (I...
If you have any of the old Nosler Solid Base bullets, the ones with the lead tip, that you would like to sell let me know. I am interested in 6mm, 257's, 270's, and 308's. Let me know what you have and what you would like for them. Thanks.

I just got back a couple days ago from moose hunting in Maine and New Hampshire. I was limited on time in New Hampshire and was only able to hunt the first 4 days of the season. There was a lot of fresh sign in the area we hunted (zone D-2) but we never ran into the moose. Maine was a...
It's finally here. I'll be leaving tomorrow morning to hunt moose in northern Maine and western New Hampshire. I've decided my primary rifle will be my Winchester 70 XTR in 300 Weatherby Mag. shooting 180gr. Nosler E-Tips. Hope to have pics for you in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the post Akhutr. I'm heading up to Maine and New Hampshire in few weeks after moose and am going to use my 300 Weatherby loaded with the 180gr. Nosler E-Tip. I have no doubts now about the cartridge/bullet combo I have chosen.

I drew a zone 6 October season bull moose tag for Maine...Oct. 12-17.
I also drew a zone D2 antlerless moose tag for New Hampshire...Oct. 17-25.
Also drew PA antlerless tags for WMU 4C, 4D, and 4E. Drew isn't the right word as the PA antlerless tags are on a first come first serve basis. I...
What is your favorite 300 Weatherby Mag handloads with 180gr. and 200gr. bullets? So far I am having luck with the IMR 7828 SSC, shooting 180gr. Partitions. I haven't settled on an actual load yet, but am getting close. Please list the rifle you are using with your loads. Mine is a Winchester...
LOL, JD338. I already bought 2 Cash 5's for tonight and 2 Powerballs for tomorrow night. I'm not sure yet what gun I am going to use. I have it narrowed down to 3. My pre-64 Model 70 in the grand old 30-06. This one is my sentimental favorite. My post-64 Model 70 in 300 Weatherby Mag, and my...
I got struck by lightening twice in the past 2 days. The moose gods were smiling on me. Last night I drew a bull tag in Maine and today I drew a cow tag in New Hampshire. Now to figure out the logistics.

I have a black bear hunt scheduled for the beginning of September. This is a bait hunt in the northern part of Maine. Tell me why the 257 Roberts wouldn't work? I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't as long as I put the right bullet in the boiler room. I have small supply of the...
Thanks for all the replies and the welcome. You guys have confirmed what I was thinking. My initial thought was to use the Accubonds, but having no experience with them I thought I would see what everyone else thought first. I'll pick up a box of 180's and 200's and see if i can find a load my...
I have a Winchester 70 XTR in 300 Wby mag with a 24" barrel. I am looking for a one load for this rifle and can't decide on a bullet. I want this gun to be able to take anything in North America, except the great bears. Anyway, which bullet would you guys use? DO you think an Accubond would...
