180 PT's in 300WSM

Rifles are strange like that. My 300wsm form Weatherby shoots the 180 PT's and BT's great but will not shot the 180AB's well. The Nosler in 300wsm on the other hand shoots the 180AB's and BT's great, but the PT's not so good. Go figure. Its a good thing I bought a lot of all three.

It did great. Just wish I'd hit the first one I shot at, Scotty. That one was a beauty.

The shot I took on the forkie I've done several times down there (on other deer, of course). Each time, the deer went as much as 40 yards before crumpling. This one dropped/rolled down the slope for maybe 10 yards. The 165gr BTSP bullets I was using never exited, either. The PT brought him down fast, that's for sure!

Might be hard to beat the 140gr PT in your Dads 7mm. They are like voodoo on deer out of my 7RM and I think they would be dynamite for your Dad.

Plus I just happened to see a ton of the PTs at the Shooters Pro Shop yesterday. Scotty

Boy, every deer that I have shot with the 165 gr, .308 Partition from a .30-06 or .300 Mag has DRT'ed on the spot. Partitions work!
