If I send a letter saying we're thinking of invading Washington, would the Corps send you to BC? :mrgreen: You know, I could make the threat credible by throwing a few tomatoes across the line? Or maybe catching a dolly varden out of Ross Lake, and declaring that it was an illegal immigrant from the US that we were going to cook and eat. :shock:

I am all for you trying Mike! Man, if could be stationed in Canada.. Phew, pretty sure it would make my transition to civilian life okay! :lol:

It's in the western part of the state unit- 104. Same unit I hunted last year with no success. Figured I try it one more time, it's been good to me. I am excited.

I plan on hunting Oregon 177 buck tag. Hopefully I draw it. Elk? ODFW canceled my hunt. Split the tag and deleted the middle days. Still undecided on how to burn my 2 points. The only tag I have interest in Takes 3 points for 100%. 2 gets me about a 44% chance. Good luck everyone.

Why? It was a marginal tag at 18 days. Now it a poor tag of 5 or 9 days. ODFW had to reduce the days, because they killed all the cows by over issuing tags. The Elk are gone Why waste points on the tag.

Well that's really to bad. Are you tied to that area for a particular reason, there must be some decent units near by ?

I have years of scouting data. Months of boots on the ground time. It was a marginal tag at 18 days. Hunting small pods of Elk that you might not see for days or solo bulls, then spot them miles off where you can not get to them that day. Cut the days, turns it into a cow hunt. Shoot the first elk you see. Which in turn kills too many cows, The Problem gets worse. If I want to shoot cows, I'll do it closer to the house.

I hunted a unit in Idaho for 21 years with great success. When an elk got up I knew where it was going, and I knew where to look for them. The wolves got so bad that we would go for days and never see an elk. I have not been there since 07. Different circumstances, and a different area, but I know how you feel. Good luck.
